My Aunt grew up in CoG back in the 70s.
Fwiw, it was a "church" devoid of the Gospel. She attended one service at what she looks back as a relatively ho-hum Baptist service and realized the difference that the Spirit made in the lives of believers and embraced Christ.
Her Mom got pregnant at age 40 with the child of a 17 year old boy who lived in one of their community houses, divorced her 50-yr-old husband (who later caught AIDs from a girl in San Fran), and married the young guy the next year. They left the cult, got married at a drive-thru chapel in Nevada, and they lived supposedly LARPing as mother/son while baptized converts to the OCA for nearly a decade.
I have no clue as to their salvific status; her daughter wanted nothing to do with her, and she died from cancer in her mid-60s leaving behind a husband in his 40s and three grown kids. That must have been a helluva childhood, and I'd be nearly certain the church knew their marital status.
