There were some decent set pieces in it (the address the the cardinals, btfoing the president of Italy, telling fags and pedophiles to get lost, etc.) but for the most part it was kind of bland. I get they were basically trying to imagine if some like Pope Innocent III were transplanted to the 21st century, but I'd rather settle for a good non-pozzed show about that pope instead.

Plus it was pornographic (e.g. le totally character building threesome scene :^)).

I'm not looking forward to the sequel, which I don't think I will watch. The way the series ended I think it will be less "House of Cards" and more "The West Wing".

A very good series, didn't know what to think of it from the trailer but it's amazing.

The sex scenes are over the top though, and should've been more subtle.

They elect a new pope which is this young and supposedly liberal pope but suddenly he appears to be a radtrad and the other cardinals plot to remove him.

Gradually, both the pope and the cardinals ease up and move closer to each other, with the cardinals becoming more understanding and the pope more open (but not in a bad way).
