I've had this conversation with 5 different people, including my dad, goes the same way every time

>immediately devolves into claims that the Pope is false or that Catholics are bad because they "worship" Mary
>sidestep the inevitable bickering and ask where do you derive your Christianity from

>say I do to and reading the Bible led me to believe the Catholic or Orthodox Church were the truest expressions of Christianity
>they acquiesce and just warn me to only worship Jesus
You can't argue like this with Lutherans and such but it gets non-denoms absolutely bent, especially if you throw in a bit about God/Holy Spirt calling you to a denomination.
