Are the reports of demonic possessions and demon sightings increasing worldwide or just in the west?

849ae1 No.662635

5 years ago priest in my school told me that 15 years from now

they used to have 3 exorcist priests in one milion metropolis but now they have like nearly hundred of trained priests and no day off from work.

It's been going up the last 20-30 years, at least in the US although there might well be issues in the rest of the West at least. I was listening do radio interviews with exorcists from the 90s and they were already warning of impending issues, this is naturally some time ago.

I'd be interested to hear what the situation is in Asia and South America; you have mixed activity or active Communist subversion in the former and apparent Pagan-ish tendencies on the uptick in the latter. In regards to South America, if I remember correctly I believe a sizable contingent of them started worshiping and praying to demons during the last election to affect a certain result for it (which was not - as you could guess - achieved), there was an article in the LA Times to that effect.

So, my guess is that it's a global uptick in possessions or downright adversarial activity, which would naturally concerning. There still seems to be a restraining impulse in play, however.

>Westerners begin abandoning God and His Truth in droves

>uptick in demonic activity

>dude what's going on???

This isn't a surprise at all, frankly.

>alleged activity

>No mass activity in places that are lost and have never known Christ

Hard think time.

>>662655

>allegedly uptick in activity

Rapid communication and the need to signal support for a waning denomination would be the cause of a perceived uptick

>most horror movies in last 10 years feature a demon protagonist

>people start becoming "possessed"

It's confirmation bias. Same as pentacostals who become hysterical during worship. It's not the holy spirit pushing you to speak jibberish, it's all your friends telling you it will happen with the encouragement of worship music.

>and it's always a catholic priest

You'll also find the "possessed" tend to be of a "hispanic/catholic" background more often then not. Wonder why theyre so superstitious.

2fc2c1 No.662739

My Priest messaged me the other day since I couldn't run prayer group since I was under the weather. Let me know how it went followed by "Strange meeting today woman had a demonic attack. Scary and true"

So I'm interested in hearing more about this. Seeing how he's typically the type of Priest to joke about demons and the like.

Just to clarify, do you guys believe in demonic possession? Or just certain reported cases of it?

Eh, the problem is not the demons, it's the hysterical people, we live in an era of mass heresy and apostasy where voodoo BS and atheistic satanism is edgy and cool. Meanwhile an influx of people from superstitious and undeveloped countries means that people are more likely overall to sit up and take notice of strange happenings.

I don't suppose for a moment that I'm a complete rationalist, I'd like to think I'd know better than staying somewhere after I had evidence that I was unwelcome. But 9 times out of 10 the rules of mass hysteria apply, where people experience something that sets them on edge, even though totally unconnected with demons or spirits, and then they work themselves up about it by fearful conversation amongst themselves.

I would like to know if the uptick has also happened in Protestant countries. The Lutheran Church does not train exorcists, and I think lack of historical demand is the cause.

Only specific cases, the ones that were chased down and beaten senseless with skepticism until the only viable explanation was something beyond natural bounds.

>I myself have experienced 'something'

>but I won't ever accept it as an answer unless every other possible explanation is exhausted and disproven, short of something truly and clearly supernatural

>ei. walking on ceilings, impossible knowledge, etc

Yup,

>>662750

Not from what I know, no uptick, but when it does happen it's very very very infrequent.

>demand for excorism predicating the necessity of the Preisthood of believers

You What?

There are more than 7 billion people living on this rock, I can't account for all their experiences, but 9 times out of 10 it's something that went wrong with the witnesses' sensory perception. That's why Christians should be wary of visions; the ratio is usually for every one inspired spiritual vision or experience there's at least 8 which are just your own faulty wiring and an extra one from demons, (from within usually or possibly from without, I don't know) thrown in. Not that I'm experienced in having visions or anything of the kind, maybe I had one but even then it seems just like in that moment I just simply had my thoughts about Christianity take on a vivid form in my mind's eye.

>1Peter 2:9, among others

>universal priesthood

Can't be a demand and a strain to meet that demand when there's an overabundance of priests. At least, from my background and understanding. The only training necessary should be teach stubbornness and being overly skeptical, specifically about whether they were successful and if the occurence is even legitimate.

If you are a believer you should be able to fulfill the role of a Priest and minister to any and all, even if whatever is needed is something you're not good at.

Just most cases I disbelieve. 99% of the time it's a natural experience. All tgese cases of "demon possession" tend to follow the story of a movie, rather than anything we know is demonic possession.

98c4d7 No.662786

I saw this one video of a guy tripping so hard on some drug while he was being arrested that he looked posessed. I think people in the middle of a strong high like that and people with tourettes are possessed.
