The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How does one deal with righteous anger /christian/, in light of the constant injustice in the world and legions of vile and despicable people, liars, fraudsters, thieves, servants of Satan?

I want to go into politics, and this requires to always keep a cool head, but when I hear a pro-Westerner or pro-NATO liar speak I just want to kill him right on the spot - something which would obviously cut my career very short.

There are Bible verses against anger, but as I see it they only apply to personal anger, whereas righteous anger/hatred is approved of, "I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.", Psalm 139:22. I do not want to stop hating the wicked, but I want to have my emotions under control. I prayed and God has helped with my carnal lusts, but anger seems to not go away that easily. What do I do?

>How does one deal with righteous anger

Why would you?

>I do not want to stop hating the wicked

You should stop hating them and pray for their conversion, so they can be saved. But you should hate their wickedness with all your heart and soul.

Read the Bible where Jesus prays for the Romans, that are torturing Him. If you're catholic, I'd suggest praying the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary, with focus on that Do you think He hated them? No. But did He hate their wicked ways? Of course.

>righteous anger/hatred is approved of, "I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies."

Read the philokalia on this. Perfect hate and anger is only valid against the temptations of the demons. It's the sort of anger one has when they get mad for having the inclination to sin.

Evagrios of Pontos clearly teaches that anger towards people is wrong in his 153 texts on prayer (http://desertfathers.blogspot.com/2011/06/works-of-evagrius-ponticuson-prayer.html). If we are angry with the perfect anger, then it is against the demons and their tricks. Otherwise, against people, we should leave our gift at the altar and reconcile, as the lord says.

now develop some tears and repent, because your understanding of righteous anger has been rooted in prelest and error.

Or just the kill them all, as the lord also says, in the OT.

I hate to admit it, but even the most conscious among us are more than anything else product of their circumstances. What about Saint Constantine the Emperor, who killed the enemies of Christendom? A monk's theology is right for monks, and stateman's for statesmen.

>stateman's for statesmen.

constantine's ideas about statesmen was that a good christian could not be a good statesman, hence why he held off baptism until death and never formally converted until death.

right theology is right theology, regardless of whether it is for a monk or not.

srsly, you're in prelest. go see your priest about this.

>constantine's ideas about statesmen was that a good christian could not be a good statesman

Source? He converted on his deathbed only because he didn't want to pick sides between Arianism and Homoousianism to avoid splitting the Church. He was a Christian since at least the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, where he had a direct vision from God.

>right theology is right theology, regardless of whether it is for a monk or not.

No, there is a long list of royal saints, most of whom have killed their enemies:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_royal_saints_and_martyrs

I don't think the priest will disagree with this.

>I don't think the priest will disagree with this.

consult your priest then. if you are right, then you have nothing to fear, and authority will vindicate you.

Had I wanted to discuss to with my priest, I would not have made the thread. So at least try to make an argument if you would be so kind.

6fa63f No.661838

>>661834

argument is this:

your priest is vested with authority to rule on this matter. talk to your priest. you're in prelest, and us plebs on the internet aren't going to sway you. submit to your ecclesial authority. he can heal you, or embolden you as needed.

>you're in prelest

>I don't need an argument

>talk to your priest

Thank you bro, very helpful. I'll remember this whenver I need to shut down some thread I don't like.

>I want to go into politics,

You're going to have to kiss Satan's feet to make it in by either pandering to the Jews and/or supporting sinful acts and regulations. A Christian these days going into politics is like trying to be voted in as a security guard of a prison by the inmates.

>anger seems to not go away that easily. What do I do?

Do not let it consume you. Find yourself a quite place and pray every time you have these feelings. Also read Psalm 37 as this guy said:

>Righteous Anger

>I just want to kill him right on the spot

There seems to be a disconnect.

eeac9e No.661907

Righteous anger is not desiring to kill someone.

Righteous anger is seeing injustice and desiring it to be corrected, for the person who did it to repent and accept the punishment of their actions, and to allow God to work His vengeance.

Pray for your enemies, OP. But always revile their sin.

Love the harlot, but don't hesitate to confront her harlotry.

Pray for the murderer and thief, but abominate their sins.

Do good to the sodomite and blasphemer, but make it known their sins are abominations.

>>661823

>Or just the kill them all, as the lord also says, in the OT.

<dude just ignore the Lord Jesus' command to love your enemies and pray for them

<kill 'em all, God will sort 'em out

Sometimes you just gotta embody the spirit of David and make war on evil people my dudes.

>You should stop hating them and pray for their conversion, so they can be saved. But you should hate their wickedness with all your heart and soul.

I have struggled with this thought for a long time. Technically, if everyone deserves a chance of repentance, how can anybody be punished, how can anyone be put to death?

And then you realize, some of these people, the ones that are not misguided, but choose to sin all the while knowing better (like the satanists described in OP), cannot be saved. They have committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit by knowing the works of God and going against Him. The only way they can be saved is by divine intervention from God himself, and yet, I am convinced that those among them, even if God came down from the sky and told them to repent, they would not.

They are pharisees. They are pharaoh. They are the ones with heavied hearts. And in abstaining from action against them, you allow them to cause harm to others. Nonetheless, this would spit in the face of modern Legalism and destroy your life and career, and you would be labelled as a murderer for dishing out justice. Which is also another problem to deal with and understand.

But I tell you, you must realize, that in the grand scope of things we live at the very end of this timeline. Jesus is soon to return, and He will smite his enemies. Do not seek retribution, for vengeance is God's. And remember that we must tend after our own flock, and leave, and trust God to handle others. The End is coming, and it is inevitable, do your best to prepare, to love others, and to convert others. God bless.

Romans 12:19

"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."
