Has the concept of a supreme court made up of priests (or something similar) ever been a thing? Like a group of holy men who judge the laws of a secular government(whether it is a King, Prime Minister, President whatever)

Has this ever been a thing?

Yes, see John 18:28-40

Pilate is a pagan Roman though, it's not quite what I am looking for. Like an American supreme court, except not being made up of lawyers, but made up of Christian priests to judge a secular nations laws to make sure they are in accord with God.

Yes, the Jewish high court that sentenced Jesus to death.

No, because in much more virtuous times papal legate/bishop of capital city/primate would just go/send someone to the king/prince/whoever and just outright tell him if his laws are not in accordance to Faith.

For all the bad the papacy did it also sure kept those skin-deep Christians, that is, pagan animals, in check.

Yes, numerous time which is why people on average distrust the hell out of cucktholics and historically haven't been very embracing of cucktholicism in America.

>trying to overthrow or through conspiracy destroy this country is treason

If you want a theocracy there's several in the middle east for you to enjoy, albeit rather shortly, otherwise get back in your lane and wait for the one and only King to come back.

You could argue that the Commonwealth under Cromwell in a way matches your description

>If you want a theocracy there's several in the middle east for you to enjoy, albeit rather shortly,

>All theocracies are bad

you are coming from subtle assumption that all religions are same. While I disagree with theocracy but for other reasons, setting a muslim """theocracies" as a general example of theocratic government is absolutely retarded.

You're right, my mistake. Muslims at least have the decency to kill heir victims quickly and be honest about wanting to do it.

There's an old Irish story about St. Patrick judging the old Brehon laws after Ireland's conversion. This probably didn't actually happen, however.
