I do like some of Steven Anderson's documentaries, but he himself admits that he's never successfully converted a Mormon to Christianity. If I wanted some good arguments that Mormon's would be receptive to, I'd go to Pastor Jeff Durbin.

Just to clarify, the guy who made this documentary, Logan Robertson, is a railing Andersonite who produces a lot of bad fruit.

I live in Mormon country. In fact, my entire street is LDS with the exception of my family. When my parents moved her in 1995, they were all friendly and brought over baked goods, invited my older siblings to playdates, etc. Ofc, that all came to a screeching halt when they realized they couldn't convert my parents.

The best resources on Mormonism that I have seen would probably be the antiquated Utah Lighthouse Ministries, founded by Jerald and Sandra Tanner, who are legendary among the Mormons for being powerful apologists against the LDS faith. The amount of research they did in the last century was incredible, and they alone affected a lot of how Mormon missionaries interacted with Prots.

As they neglected to update their website and resources for the 20th Century, I'd probably point toward Hank Hanegraff as one of the best counter-mormon apologists, at least regarding his flipchart. The Tanner's are still the best for in-depth work, though, imo.

You know its kind of funny, while i know they aren't Christian, I have mixed feings for Mormons. One of my friends is LDS, and while her (ex) boyfriend was trying to convert me and said something really nasty about The Blessed Virgin, so nasty I cut off contact with him, she is one of the reasons I'm Catholic. I told her that I felt The Church calling to me, almost, and she encouraged me to return to the Catholic Church.

On the other hand my childhood best friend and childhood crush married a Mormon who abused her and had her committed to an mental hospital, and then took their son when he divorced her because "she's not capable of raising a child" yeah because you damaged her, you son of a bitch, and then moved to frickin' Utah… All the way from Massachusetts. So I've had some good experiences with their people, and then bad experiences with them.

Oh and one of my other best friends lives in Utah. And she was raped by a Mormon she considered a friend. If I ever see either of those men when I visit my friend I'm going to be going to jail for murder.

Steven Anderson is retarded to still be teaching that repentance can be divorced from faith.

That text in Jonah at 17 minutes makes a distinction between what is translated in the KJV as "turning back", and "repentance" to reflect the two different Hebrew words.

Beside that, Ephesians 2:8-8 quoted at 18:25 comes directly before 2:10 which says that the elect will do good works because of the operation of God.

Well this "friend" came out as a lesbian today. So nevermind. Cut off all contact.

So works salvation then?

I've repented from works salvation, and that's the only way I was able to place all faith in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I place no faith in turning from sin or having cleaning up my life, and all faith in the blood of the Lamb and his righteousness, the righteousness of God. Nothing else justifies but that, God knows whether you believe that or not.

>(the simple act of turning away from sin, and towards Christ)

Repentance can mean turning away from a number of things, it doesn't have to be sin, and the implicit proof of this is the fact that according to the word of God, God himself repented many times.

>The scripture never represents repentance(the simple act of turning away from sin, and towards Christ) as a work

In the case of turning from sins, this is outright represented as works in Scripture.

Jonah 3:10

"And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not."

Only thing is I don't see where you get off arguing against the actual scriptures and/or trying to subtly change word definitions when it's clear Jonah 3:10 says so.
