I respect Lutherans, Presbyterians and Baptists, although I deeply disagree with them.

What we have in Brazil is a travesty though. Those new "churches" are theologically shallow as a pond and their pastors take advantage of simple poor people to milk every dime from them. They rig elections and their churches are often serve to launder money from illegal activities.

Pic related is Edir Macedo the billionare owner of "The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God" (the largest of those churches). Guess what, he comes from a Jewish family and (((converted))) to Christianity. He also defends abortion and helped socialists win the election.

Sorry for the rant, but seeing Our Lord's name attached to these satanic enterprises makes my blood boil.

Most of my experience with the prosperity ministry has been through the main stream television guys, but here recently I had an opportunity to meet with some members of a small local church that like to practice the word of faith teachings. I didn't expect them to be much different than a typical charismatic or evangelical church on the surface, but man was I wrong. These guys are so obsessed with wealth and success. Five minutes into a conversation with one of the staff members and he's already telling me how much he made last year and the percentage increase from the previous year. Their website even had a section for testimonies that was full of the same stuff.

These guys made the Creflo Dollar's and Jesse Duplantis's of the world seem tame.
