I believe that there's people that attained special powers by making deals with the devil. But here's the truth: The devil cannot perform miracles. He can trade and he can deceive but he can't perform the wonders that are described as "witchcraft".
Did you even read up on the author's biography and the publishing history of that book? Look up Heinrich Kramer/Henricus Institoris. He spread fear and hate amongst the public to achieve his goals, he literally faked documents to get his book published and authorized, he even got rebuked for his deeds by Church authorities multiple times.
