From TheGoldwater:

>The verdict is out: South Australian Catholic Archbishop Philip Wilson is guilty of concealing child sex abuse by another priest and could serve time in prison

>The decision was delivered in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court this morning as the state’s highest-ranking Catholic Church official appeared shocked with the verdict.

>The 67-year-old Wilson was accused of covering up of the abuse of then 10-year-old altar boy Peter Creigh by convicted pedophile priest Jim Fletcher near Newcastle, in 1971.

>The victim shared to Wilson what was done to him in 1976. The Archbishop told the trial that he has no memory of such conversation. Wilson is suffering the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Don't you have a statute of limitations for this kind of shit? How can anyone prove such an old story in fact happened?

Most likely has to do with the paper trail he left when he was covering up the abuse.

>He could be legitimately guilty

>He could be innocent with the secular society simply being out for blood and finding an easy scapegoat

I don't know anymore. Not like they would ever show any of their evidence.

The crime is covering it up, and even if the original crime was decades ago, the statute of limitations doesn't start ticking until he stops covering it up.

What's that, the 3rd or 4th case this month? Come on schismatics, bury your pride and come back to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church.

418a50 No.652305

>>652298

It happens in Orthodoxy too, the only reason we hear about it in the Catholic Church is a) proximity b) because the Vatican covers it up, and c) the RCC rewards conformism and because it is a multi-billion dollar enterprise it gets up to all kinds of dirty tactics, including, but not limited to fostering cult mentality, which makes predation easier and that centralized, scandal-suppressing bureaucracy basically acts as a bunch of enablers.

All this is possible due to the supremacy doctrine.

>It happens in Orthodoxy too, the only reason we hear about it in the Catholic Church

Not really.

I'm in ortho land, and i can count like, 3 instances of mediatised sexual scandals in living memory.

Not for lack of trying either.

The press is just as jackal-like here(when we found a pedo priest 1.5 years ago, the media kept dragging the scandal on for A YEAR)

It happened before the schism, too.

We just need a St. Peter Damian to once more morally reform the Roman Church, and smack these degenerates back in line, again.

541bcc No.652368

>>652324

But it won't happen. A modern-day St. Peter Damian would get gunned down in an alleyway because the business of child abuse pornography is far too lucrative to lose - and upset the weak balance between the Big Three.

707fee No.652384

>>652312

The first one is just a letter to the editor of one person making unsubstantiated claims. I'm not saying that this is proof that it doesn't happen, but it would not be wise to include this letter as proof that it does either.

>EDITOR’S NOTE: The names of the Seminaries were left out because there is no confirmation of the claims of our reader.

8d4bd2 No.652413

>>652384

You see, the problem here is neither that I want to have this so badly in the ortho churches. The point is that it happens everywhere, with incredibly high rates also among American protestants, and no matter how much shit we throw at each other for denominational issues and how bad it's in yours rather than mine, the victims are being raped and molested nonetheless, everywhere, no matter how much we fight about supposed purity and what not else.

>(a law firm offering service particularly to victims of sexual abuse and rape by greek ""orthodox"" church members)

No, look at the previous page or just scroll down, it's offering to services to various denoms, Greek Orthodox is just one of them and the least of them, it could even be listed for marketing purposes only.

https://www.hermanlaw.com/practices/clergy-abuse/

Look I'm not denying that there are some sexual abuse cases in the Orthodox Church, but compared to the RCC it's a tiny fraction, even proportionally. Even the one true Church has some rotten apples in it, but the discrepancy between it and the RCC is huge.

I agree with you, I abhor sexual crimes especially against children, and I would have the death sentence for them all. Yet, when you compare the few dozen cases in the Orthodox Church to the tens of thousands in the RCC it's a difference of magnitudes. We're not a small church, we have 225-300 million nominal members.

My point is simply: If the West was Orthodox, child sexual abuse would be less prevalent by magnitudes.
