Repent with your heart, and cry out to God. Get on your knees and repent like you've never done before son. He will forgive you, doesn't matter what you did, what matters is how you start walking now. Remember that God looks at the heart, man looks on the outside. Start reading the Bible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I know where you are and many of us have been there, you need to seek God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Pray, pray, and pray and read your Bible.

One should notice that the old covenant is based upon the (involuntary and not executed) sacrifice of Isaac, in contrary to Christ sacrificing himself voluntarily to redeem his people, forming a new covenant. Anyways good bait.

Snide comment aside, the reason why God sacrificed Jesus is to put an end to the countless and meaningless animal sacrifices God told the Isrealites to do in the OT.

God noticed, the more laws he gave his people of Isreal the more they rebelled. Eventually people were so full of sin that the animal sacrifices lost their meaning and it just became routine to sacrifice an animal without actually repenting twords God.

So after God gave them unto Babylon He set in motion His plans to have there be a sacrifice to end all sacrifices. The perfect lamb to be sacrificed, Jesus was that lamb.

With Jesus' death came an end to the old covenant and a start of the New Covenant, where there are no more sacrifices. All you have to do is believe on Jesus' sacrifice and his Ascension into heaven, and follow his commandments and you will know eternal life.

I feel you, I was raised by a single mother.

I was never even baptised, but I became Orthodox at 20. And I can guarantee you I have a spiritual strenght that can only come from continuous mental torture and a spirtual weakpoints that can only come from it also.

Rejoice, the Lord gave you such pains for your growth and to mold you.
