Anyone here read Anne Catherine Emmerich's The Dolorous Passion of Jesus Christ or any of her other books? The former is a recounting of the visions she had of the gospel stories and adds a lot of stuff that wasn't mentioned but doesn't seem to contradict. Mel Gibson's The Passion was basically an adaptation of this book.

Some of her other visions led people to discover the House of the Virgin Mary in Turkey, where Mary stayed before her assumption.

I read some of it online. It put me in a bad mood because I realized they treated Jesus even worse than in Mel Gibson's movie.
