Okay, so miracles really speak to the validity of Christianity, the problem is other religions have them as well? How do you debunk the miracles of others, i use to use demons as the answer but it'd like something more concrete for this. Is there some proven demon behavior in demonology that can expose the other miracles? Also what debunks the (everyone is their own god, so every miracle created came from the self created god) meme?

They're some combination of genuine miracles from God but misattributed elsewhere, angelic activity (subset as angels carry put divine will), demonic activity, witchcraft, stage magic, misunderstandings of human behavior, misinterpretations of natural phenomena, made up stories, or something else. I doubt "other religions'" miracles are demonic in every case. Some of them might very well be genuine miracles from God but simply not recognized as such out of ignorance, or deliberately misrepresented. The Pharisees in their Talmud attribute Jesus' miracles to sorcery, for example. All genuine miracles belong to God, all fake ones to Satan.

Soliphism can be easily refuted by aging a few years and not being an edgy teenager anymore lol

there are not miracles in other religions like in Christianity. There are prophecies in the quran, many legends in hinduism. Same about buddhism. Nothing like feeding 5000 people with some fishes and bread.

While Jesus does indeed have power over demonic possession/activity, anyone can run into an unexplainable phenomenon and ignorantly claim it was God. Early in /christian/ someone said that Demons would ask for something in return, or that if a demon helped you with magic that it was in exchange for something, or usually a wish was granted with something backhanded aspect to it.

Thank you, that was a very clear explanation.

The problem is that psychological brand of mysticism has become the new trend with all the awful leftist woman i have to deal with, Oprah promotes one thing and women just hoard it.

The feeding of 5000 is a miracle, but i'm referring to modern peculiarities, like people being cured of diseases in an unexplained manner.

i was listening to fr. hesse recently and he mentioned saint john of the cross warning not to base our faith on miracles and signs because its not as strong as blind faith

>Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

But the definition of faith is trusting something you cannot prove, which also fits the definition of a miracles. I understand what you're saying, not to let miracles an idol. The point of this thread was to see if there is a way to evaluate miracles from something that looks like a miracle.

I trust all the denominations in different areas, because there needs to be a level of concrete basis for believing in something that cannot be proven as easily, such as God. It's dangerously easy to have faith in false gods or false versions of Christianity like Mormonism. It's absolutely critical to be able to understand when someone from a questionable background is shilling something with "God", and this goes for all denominations.
