I just had a strange experience, felt like talking to an angel. I asked why faith is important? He said that after this life is over faith is all you can take into eternity. Specifically the soul that your faith has developed. Then I had a vision of two paths, the faithless one was totally dark, people are conscious but only of themselves and darkness, everyone is separated…nothing to do or experience forever, like being in a sensory deprivation tank. Which could be hell in itself for most people, no fire needed.

The second path with faith had the possibility of communicating with others and with God (which was a formless pure light environment). But he said the clarity of this path depends on how much you purify yourself in this life, if simply dwelling on God and praying brings you happiness now then the afterlife will be blissful. If you have weak faith and need to distract yourself with entertainment or sins then the afterlife will be greyish…not totally dark but not illuminated fully.

Have any saints or theologians mentioned something like this?

Sounds pretty orthodox. We have saints who talk of hades as though it were a sort of spiritual passageway, wherein there are demons who will try to distract you by provoking your passions and keeping you absorbed in yourself. So it stands to reason that fighting the passions in this life will help you keep focused on the path in the next life. See https://youtu.be/54gRw1jVebY for starters

Don't do that! Never talk to angels unless you ask them about Jesus first. Demons hate Jesus. 1 John 4:1-2

Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

By this is the spirit of God known. Every spirit which confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God:

Thank you for the knowledge and advice. I hope to remember that if anything similar to OP happens to me or someone else.

always make the sign of the cross before you interact with visions to make sure

>If you have weak faith and need to distract yourself with entertainment or sins then the afterlife will be greyish…not totally dark but not illuminated fully.

Neither scripture nor any signifigant denomination teaches this. Ye got a demon on yer hands.

>scripture teaches every detail about reality and afterlife

oh. Didn't know that.

This isn't something to be sarcastic about, especially given that scripture is crystal clear about the afterlife:

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." -Matthew 31-46

And false apparitions:

"Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. By this is the spirit of God known. Every spirit which confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God" -1 John 4:1-2

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed" -Galatians 1:8

Believe this demon at your own peril.

>Matthew 31-46

First, just want to note this is in Matthew chapter 25.

Second, it's important not to ignore verse 31 here.

>When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory

This is clearly talking about the second coming, not what will happen immediately after you die.
