Is it OK to outright lie while preaching if you convert people and make them abandon sin? even if you are blatantly pulling shit out of your ass? Our pastor at church, every time he talks about Anime says stuff like Dragonball means "Invoking the beast" or "Invocation to Satan", when I was a kid and I went to a Jesus camp type thing for 2 days and I vividly remember another pastor telling us how Beyblade's "let it rip" meant " evil possesion" or "Demonic possesion" or something like that.

To be honest this made me very doubtful of religion itself, but I remember lots of kid swearing they will stop watching Beyblade and other Anime like Pokemon and whatever.

seems like you answered your own question.

It is never okay to lie in any circumstance, especially as a teacher,

>"My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation."

>"In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you."

>"Lying lips [are] abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly [are] his delight."

Yeah but that happened to me because I KNEW about that shit already, other kids just agreed.

>>615117

Well he was half-lying because all that stuff is Sin but not because of those reasons, because those aren't reasons just inventions of the preacher made due to laziness and dramatic impact.

If you calmly talk about children how this series uses magic to revive people or how they summon an actual dragon or how demons lived inside tops kids would not care, so preachers have to transform in to showman for impressionable kids.

In resume: he was right but for the wrong reasons.

This just proves that lying is fruitless. We don't ever need to lie. We have the Truth.

yeah but WHY did the pastor lied? simple! he ain't got time to view those Anime things and he thinks kids are dumb so he just will make up shit on the fly.

If he actually had done his Job instead of being a snake charmer clown, he would have sound arguments.

Indeed. Again, we have the Truth. We don't need to lie.

The whole 'satanic panic' of the 80s was a psyop to undermine religion.

Looking at the results and how bad it made certain Christians look, I'm sure this is the case. That said, I'm equally confident that this was projection initiated by those who are actual guilty. There's not a doubt in my mind that talmudic ritual abuse is not just real, but more common than we'd ever suspect.

I sometimes wonder if the Westboro baptist church exists for the same reason.

Let us do evil that good may come of it?

7bcf26 No.615411

No. The best you can do is truthfully teach the word of God and if they ignore it, it is their fault.

a7a07d No.615457

Lying is a sin. The principle of double effect stands here. You may not do evil so that good may come about.

>WHAT shall we say, then? shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Romans 6:1, DRV

ac77a6 No.615472

It clearly does. The Westboro church is controlled by a single family of lawyers that makes their money off others who wrongly try to stop their free speech. The founder repented of it and was excommunicated for repenting, if I remember correctly. Got old and worried about how sinful his life was and his family booted him for getting soft.

717373 No.615479

Lying? No. Mediocrity? Yes.

>In the days of John Wesley, lay preachers with limited education would sometimes conduct the church services. One man used Luke 19:21 as his text: “Lord, I feared Thee, because Thou art an austere man” (KJV). Not knowing the word austere, he thought the text spoke of “an oyster man.”

>He explained how a diver must grope in dark, freezing water to retrieve oysters. In his attempt, he cuts his hands on the sharp edges of the shells. After he obtains an oyster, he rises to the surface, clutching it “in his torn and bleeding hands.” The preacher added, “Christ descended from the glory of heaven into . . . sinful human society, in order to retrieve humans and bring them back up with Him to the glory of heaven. His torn and bleeding hands are a sign of the value He has placed on the object of His quest.”

>Afterward, 12 men received Christ. Later that night someone came to Wesley to complain about unschooled preachers who were too ignorant even to know the meaning of the texts they were preaching on. The Oxford-educated Wesley simply said, “Never mind. The Lord got a dozen oysters tonight.”

>Our best may not always measure up to the standards of others. But God takes our inadequacies and humble efforts and uses them for His glory.

de09bd No.615547

He might have been mistaken. A lot of times people just repeat rumours without actively fact checking them. Older people are completely out of touch with youth culture. He wasn't necessarily deliberately lying. No, it's not okay to lie, because no matter how good st lying you are, you'll be caught in one eventually, and you'll onr day have to start lying to yourself.

77821e No.615734

Well I know he was right in calling out those shows as the Satanic shit they are, the problem is that lying in basic shit is the equivalent of a well thought argument being dismissed due grammar mistakes.

With all that bullshit people will wont listen and will remain on their sinful actions because they will just assume the preacher or pastor is full of shit.
