Why is Monothelitism bad

It's not. It's the truth.

>3. This is a board for Christian discussion and fellowship. For the intentions of the board, a Christian is one who believes in the Nicene Creed (Specifically the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed) and the Chalcedonian Definition.

Because it assumes Christ did not have a human will and therefore was not perfectly and fully human

I guess but is it a combined will? Naturally, his wills (if plural) would have to be in accord?

df09a9 No.613519

Of course. Discord with the divine will is sin and Jesus was always sinless.

Chalcedon didn't touch upon wills that was Constantinople III

>Why is Monothelitism bad

>Matt 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

If Jesus has only one will, the divine, what will is he refering to here? It can only be refering to his human nature.

Saying that Jesus only had a divine will means he was not fully human.
