This; most of us are guilty of that 99% of our lives too…I am glad I never fell that low, but I am still no better than this former priest. We should try to help him, pray for him and hope he gets the right punishment for his actions and also a chance at redemption too. We all need God in our lives, especially those of us who sinned the most.

Also, that letter from Podestà makes me sad to the core…Italy is not better than the USA Catholics, most of us are just "cultural Catholics", but we know nothing about faith or true devotion to God.

Be really careful with what people tell you about "good works". If you're naive and gullible it may end up hurting people.

It's the same kind of mindset that tries to tell christians it's "their duty" to help ANY "refugee/asylumseeker" no matter the consequences. They think they're righteous, but they reduce the meaning of church and the number of its followers in the long term. I've seen these brainless interpretations of good works even on this board - if you oppose them they'll just keep quiet and endure it, like they will the bad consequences of their actions. This isn't unconditional love. This isn't mindfulness. It means you don't really care, as long as you can do your works and the world goes on.

Pharisees in new clothes. May God show them their errors in time and help the Christian nations.

Evil and intent to harm (anger, insults, vengeful spirit) is murder, and murder is sin. Evil and intent to harm children (same, though with adultery now of lust) is sin too. All these things are sins together and equally a falling from God's way.

People go on and on about the millstone verse, when He is clearly referencing causing children to fall from the faith, from believing in Him. And since Jesus is also not a man of death and killing, He is just emphasizing how evil it is. Evil is evil, which is evil. We are in no place to judge, as often as we humans are adulterous murderers.

Haha, no. Christ uses parables for even more basic concepts, it would be entirely out of style. Plus, it's the only time Christ demands that someone be killed outside of a parable - and it's relayed in 3 gospels, while the only parable case is The Ten Minas relayed in Luke.

Fornication with children is the only form of child abuse that causes sin on the child's part; it's very clear what is meant, to the exclusion of everything else. Plus, given pic related, one wonders how common such views were a few hundred years prior to Talmud.

Fornication with children only causes sin when you will something of the body, only then is it sin, in all cases. If you have that condition where you randomly curse, it is not sin except when you will it, same here. There is no sin there for them, only on the person willing it.

Killing is not needed, God could kill us (we deserve the death), but He doesn't, I will do the same for all others.

Yeah, you're right, it makes no sense. Also, the children aren't literal, but children in faith according to the Greek original and the context. I don't know why I believed Pastor Anderson's explanation of the verse, seems protties always get things wrong.

On the killing I disagree though, the Holy Spirit literally kills Ananias and Sapphira in the NT, and the OT is full of literal killing and capital punishment.
