>"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

>Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

Does /christian/ support this?

The problem isn't the guns but a broken and Godless society, I suspect the 1950s were better than now in terms of gun crime for example. Nobody wants to address the real issue which is there's something wrong with people.

The point of the amendment is to enable to citizenry to overthrow the government if need be. That doesn't sound like a particularly Christian thing to do. Aside from that, the weapons that are useful in actual warfare, such as explosives, armor, and artillery, are all heavily regulated, so it's sort of a moot point anyway.

I still like my target shooting, though.

guns don't kill people, people in a broken and atomized society who've been alienated to the point where they take their angst out on their fellow man, kill people.

I am not American so I am not concerned about this particular law but natural law to self defense and thus to have guns is near my heart. Because guns were made to self defense, they are even called "defned" in my language.

Fair, but democracy isn't exactly Christian either
