The main character is a human teacher and three monstergirls are his students. With that said, he had (and has) a faulty understanding of the faith. The pastor he cites as most influential in his life was female and pro-fornication, and in discussions about his faith he often spouts bizarre ideas (like believing in a sort of Binity and thinking that God's main goal is arranging his life to make him happy).
If I remember right, he was banned for a month for some reason and in response he wrote a whole letter blaming God, the congregation, and his ineffective church counselor for the past decade of torment and trolling.

That's true, it's reaching out to those people. Even the DEUS VULT larping, made it so that Christianity has suddenly become a bit "cooler" than before, and people are viewing it in a better light. A lot of factors are playing into it, but the imageboards are one of the biggest ones I think.
People used to view Christianity as a hypocrytical, limp-wristed and incredibly lame in general, Which is in part because of Atheist-manipulation, but in part because for some reason, Christian organizations just seem kind of bad at PR, and have allowed for the worst parts of the religion to be blown out of proportion but it has changed.
For example the DEUS VULT meme, conditions people to think of Christians as less weak and more willing to fight for their beliefs. Still, they view that as zealotry, but they definitely admire the strenght and devotion of the crusaders even if subconciously.
Second of all, the imageboards which I also mentioned at the beginning, are generally a very chaotic force that mostly gathers individualists in both good and bad meanings of that word who are always against the Status Quo. That is not to say that they change their beliefs on whim, is that the beliefs against the current Status Quo seem to always find their ways into the minds of anons, and anons with those beliefs always seem to somehow find their way here. Because of being a force against the current order, they or rather we are also the force that is most likely to break social conventions, and norms.
Which also makes us very good at humor.
The main force against religion for atheism was mockery, they could easily portray religious people as idiotic zealots wih no sense of humour, science-denialists and so on and so forth. Then it's only the case of painting atheism as the intelectuals choice and bam, the public opinion of us has changed for the worse.
But anons, as I said, are very good at humor, and so they are very good at mocking things.
So suddenly, Christianity becomes this actually unusual way of living, different from the mainstream, different from the status quo, and as it's natural for the imageboards it makes it's way in here. A lot of anons take up Christianity, and begin to create memes.
Mockery, has been suddenly turned against atheism, as the "fedora" meme came to fruition, and suddenly Christians are funny again by the power of imageboard humor and weeb culture. And instead of atheism being the "individualist, intelectual's choice", Christianity is starting to look as one seeing that being an atheist is no longer against the mainstream, it's no longer the force that has the most funny people, and was never truly the """intelectual's""" choice, which people are starting to see.

I attend a Catholic church and the pews are bereft of young people excepting the ones who attend with their families. I have also attended protestant services and noticed the same thing.
Someone told me that young people are interested in more traditionalist services like latin mass, I've never had the opportunity to attend one of these so that's a possibility, still it seems to me that internet Christianity is unfortunately not translating to real world Christianity
