Why do heretics look like they're cosplaying as wizards when they try to do their own services?

let me guess, she's liberal on every possible subject of morality and theology

It's a stupid fucking meme, protestants aren't apostolic by definition

86d660 No.603275

>>603272

Relax, it's just a way to divide Christians on the basis of those belonging to denominations which claim apostolic succession and those who don't.

65dc39 No.603276

>>603272

That’s sort of the joke, it’s making fun of both Anglican pretension at being both apostolic and Protestant, as well as making fun of Protestant shitposters who try to claim that Anglicans are indeed “apostolics” and not Protestants.

Apparently she's the first female Anglican Archbishop anywhere?! Surely the Brits and Canadians have been appointing them for a decade?!?! This caaaaaaaan't be real.

>>603237

When I heard it had happened, I knew it had to be Goldsworthy. I know little about her politics, but I'm pretty sure she's a liberal, but I don't think she'd com close to Swedish Lutheran-tier or Episcopal or Canadian liberalism. I mean, she is a woman, for one, and secondly she voted for "same sex union blessings" or some-such crap. I remember her name being floated regularly in Melbourne, but I could never get to the "why".

>Australia’s first female Anglican Archbishop, Kay Goldsworthy, says her first strong experiences of the power of God were through the charismatic movement, but she left it because its leaders made her feel she was not a good enough Christian.

kek!

>After spending some time in typical teenage rebellion, the future Archbishop was converted at a Teen Challenge conference in Queensland as she responded to a sermon by its leader, Charles Ringma.

So that's pedigree. Dunno. Really don't know. I was just surprised the usual suspects of the "APOSTOLICS YES!!" crew weren't getting all excitable about this, tha's all.

Apparently her hubby is no longer or never was a believing Christian. (Not that this cannot be easily explained.)

>>603272

Oh ffs, are you REALLY arguing against a meme?! Are YOU the brain-damaged one? Memes are just memes, fam.

Sydney Anglican secession when?

What happened to the Anglicans? How did they go from C.S. Lewis to this circus?

>>603288

>Charles Ringma

>Dr Ringma has a background in social welfare policy, has taught religious studies at several universities around the world. Dr Ringma has developed drug addiction and social welfare programs including the Good News Centre which worked with alchoholics in South Brisbane and Teen Challenge, a drug rehabilitation programme for youth. Dr Ringma is now retired and continues to serve as an elder for the mission, Servants to Asia's Urban Poor.

google is your frieeeeend

Actually, it's possible when I said "pedigree" I was thinking of someone else. I think I confused Teen Challenge with … something else I cannot recall the name of but I had friends associated with it

>>603292

this without qualification

And this >>603634

It's sad really to see the congregation that gave us the Wilberforces, Whitefields and Lewises go down the plughole. But it's heartening to know that it wasn't the Anglican Church that gave us such Christian heroes, but the Spirit of God who did. His Ekklesia remains utterly unchanged.

If not before hint: yes ordaining women stripped them of any and all claims to apostolic succession

We still have the ACCA, but it's hard finding an ACCA congregation that isn't ancient. Last one I went to the parishioners were so old they could barely function.
