I think God knows what you will pray for, but this is different from saying that your prayers are pre-decided—as though they were decided for you—, because you are the one who decided to pray, even if God knew you were going to make that decision. God reserves certain things for us, out of our immediate reach, so that through prayer we may eventually obtain them.

You're right about everything except God being an asshole. To me you're just stating a pretty normal fact about theology and calling God an asshole because you don't like it. Of course we'll be offended. If you want me to explain the importance of prayer to both God and man, just ask and I will. But by the way you talk, I don't think you are looking for an answer.

Prayer is a platform of communication between man and God, also it must feel bad having to intentionally seek out people you don't agree with to justify yourself.

I always turn to language for things like this. The etymology of prayer leads us back to the root 'prek-', which means to ask or request. Essentially, praying to God has a dual purpose of acknowledgement of His name and you humbling yourself and your will unto him. You ask Him for something: help against the temptation of sin, insight into something that troubles you, or peace when suffering presents itself. Remember that all requests are not obligatory fulfillments that God has to bring about; the fact that He even listens and helps us at all is indicative of His Mercy.
