Adapt the heathenry to Christendom not the Christendom to heathenry.

There's a "missionary" (?) trying to evangelize this cult at my school (an American state school).

They generally come at you starting with this argument:

The Sabbath is Saturday. Jesus and the Apostles worshiped on the Sabbath (in Jewish context, but never mind that). Therefore, the Sabbath remains the "correct" day for worship services. If your church gathers on a Sunday, then it must not be the true Church.

They have a "Bible study" that they try to recruit you to.

Embed related for a summary of their polemic.

It's funny, Herbert W. Armstrong's group used to use that argument that since the Bible refers to the church of God and his church was called Church of God that his was the true church. And then after he died the church splintered into a million groups with different names like Restored Church of God, Living Church of God, etc.

The Armstrongists are also Sabbatarians and practice holidays like Passover, same as these Koreans. I don't know if there's a link between the two.

Woah! I got approached by one of those guys once, but I didn't know what he was. I figured he was just a normal judaizer, and thought it was weird that he was Asian cause I associated judaizing with white evangelicals. He gave me card for a Bible study, I politely accepted it, and then I threw it away when he was out of sight.

The Koreans elevate and revere mother figures and this seems like syncretism with that.

e89f8d No.598779

Well, that's got me a bit suspicious because Korea has that whole "6 Goddesses" cult thing going on where some religious ladies were pulling the strings behind the Prime Minister of the country, the PM herself just being a puppet. They're also linked to Hillary Clinton and all of that weird blood sacrifice stuff somehow. I barely remember those /pol/ threads but I'm sure they were linked to the Megalia stuff. I'm hoping some wandering Korean catholic can clarify.

Also, can you give me any examples of Koreans elevating and revering mother figures?

>Writing out THE CHURCH OF GOD in the bible means your denomination name should be CHURCH OF GOD

>It could not POSSIBLY mean that they were just referencing the church as Church of God

e89f8d No.598784

This. It seems like a really frail, nitpicky excuse to create your own entire denomination. It's definitely suspect.

Well, there it is. These people literally believe that Ahn SahnGong is the second coming of Christ. They believe that this man is Christ. That's all the reason anyone should need to dismiss this cult. The fact that it's yet another Korean cult proclaiming about some "Mother" combined with the actual "6 Goddesses" shit going on is all the reason I need to stay the hell away from this trash.

Sad to see this stuff is really gaining traction, I see posters advertising meetings for these groups that want to tell people about "god the mother" all over campus, and this is a public university in Texas, mind you

They probably teach that denying that doctrine is some kind of "intercessor." We need to pray that they stop acting like a cult with their false female deity and turn to the true God for salvation.

It's pretty prolific through their culture in a general sense. The portrayal of the Kims in North Korea as mothers for the nation is a good example though. Everything about their aesthetic is to convey nurturing motherliness which is often misunderstood and mocked because they look like fat soft wimps rather than strong men.
