I somewhat often get told that I look like Jesus, which I jokingly respond with "yes my son, I have returned". Even though I'm saying it in a jokingly way to humor them, not literally telling people that I'm god, is it still a sin?

That’s weird, I met this kid named Kevin who looked just like Jesus. Someone said to him “you look like a Zach,” which was weird cause I knew a kid in high school named Zach who was nicknamed Jesus cause he looked like him. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but if it’s giving you bad feelings maybe stop it now before you’re plagued with guilt later

Yes, although I can believe that you weren't intentionally mocking God.

Humour is fine such as Christchan and the jokes this board, and is a great way to connect with people and dissolve prejudices against Christianity but I don't think it should involve immitating Jesus. It isn't very funny, gives the impression that you don't experience God as a person, and doesn't command respect for the faith.

Imagine what you'd think if a Muslim started immitating Muhammad. Its a type of self-deprecating humour that's embarrassing behaviour for the devout.
