So some "travelling monk" gave me this book, among others. What am I in for?

b8cd7e No.596469

Hindu garbage

I had exact same book with exact same cover. It's mostly about hinduistic """spirituality""" and some incantations and hymns for pagan "gods"

Figured as much. Was just glad to have a free weird book. Honestly surprised we haven't had Mormons come around here.

Read Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future.

fd9fe1 No.596498

Is that from the Mahabharata? I kind of wanted to read that since it's supposed to have a lot of insane battles.

Do you have a fireplace?

cefed0 No.596529

Just out of curiosity, I thought "Pagans" referred to followers of "Paganism".

How is Hinduism related to Paganism?

ec0c74 No.596532

>>596529

"Paganism" isn't a religion. It's just a name for everything but Abrahamic religions.

cc69cb No.596541

Read bhagavad gita op if you like hinduism

I see it as a thought experiment and remember before any scientist knew about infinite universes the hindus already knew about it before them thats why you see that krishna thing at cern

Also did he just gave it to you out of nowhere? Strange… must be a chad

Nah, I just collect strange books. Thinking of buying Oahspe and the Book of Mormon to add to my collection.

>>596550

Kinda, just stopped me on my way to class and made some small talk about peace and whatnot. Was a pretty chill guy.

3b26db No.596552

Maybe even the Urantia book if I can find a good sturdy hardcover version.

Even as a Christian, the Bhagavad Gita is a very remarkable and respectable read. It isn't very long but contains an incredible wealth of wisdom.

A bunch of hindu stuff

Good man. I have such a small collection as well, although I don't seek out "strange" books as you probably do. It is important that a man have diversity on his bookshelf, so that he can reach out for a source to prove his arguments.

This one nice indian guy gave me some books about Yoga and hara krishan, and he was very polite and flattering about it. I took them just out of curiosity. In the book it talks about Hara Krishna as "the Lord" than later in the chapter it refers to it as a mother hara.

After watching that webm and comparing it to the text itself, that assessment of Krishna seems a bit too selective. While it does state those titles, it must be taken into account with the rest of the scriptures. The way he words it makes it appear as though they're basically worshipping Satan himself, despite the purpose of the text being to show him as lord of all beings: mortal, mystical, demonic, or otherwise.

76dc96 No.606014

Can agree with that. The Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads are both extremely interesting to read. Though I'd always suggest caution with Eastern religious stuff.

Shit translation tbh, but a good read nontheless

I think you're missing an important detail. Part of the nature of demons is that they aren't going to flat out tell you they're demons, unless you're already bought into some critical lies. Satan is trying to replace God, the religions worshiping him are full of mocking counterfeits.

Just the fact that it's a gender ambiguous demons means it's not God, (just for the sake of argument even if chrisitanity is false, that wouldn't remove the satanic elements from other religions) nor would something that is holy call itself those titles. While Something evil would actually benefit from lying about their position.
