So how many of you went to Mass and had to sit through a glowing praise of MLK and how it's horrible we have racism still and we need MLK again and how tragic it was his "ministry" was cut short by a bullet and that MLK was a saint and a prophet even though he was a heretic even among baptists? And completely neglected to mention his adulterous perverted sick life?

Defining MLK's life by his sins is the social conscious equivalent of debunking a person's argument by pointing out a typo.

To be fair, normies don't even know about any of that. You can't blame them for praising someone who they've only heard good things about.
>>589078
No it isn't. A typo isn't a moral failing. If someone claims to be a moral teacher, but isn't moral themselves, you absolutely can say they're a bad moral teacher.
If you want to say that MLK had good politics or ideas, then yeah, his character isn't relevant. Op, however, was talking about idolizing MLK as a person, which is not the same thing.

MLK never denied his sins. If you don't think a major sinner can be a moral teacher, then St. Augustine would like a word with you.

He also encouraged black people to riot, that's why a lot of feminist and BLM activists scoff at the notion at a "peaceful MLK". He was an evil immoral person who met his own demise, but everyone forgot about his bad actions because he was made into a matyr by the media and press. He taught progressives that they can solve "discrimination" by acting like an animal, and it's no surprise that they're still complaining about discrimination today. When you learn the falsehood that others are responsible for your bad actions, then you will always fail.

It was a meme that the press used to justify the Baltimore riots. You can get the same answer if you tell liberals that MLK wouldn't approve of Antifa/BLM behavior.

Unsurprisingly, Baltimore turned to shit after law enforcement listened to the public to tone down police presence after the riots. They now have a higher homicide rate than New York,

The mainstream press is silent about it as it goes against their narrative, but this goes to show you that violence doesn't solve things in the long run. No human being can ever conjure peace from discord. It will always remain miserable and chaotic until they hold themselves accountable for their bad actions so that they can reform themselves to be more peaceful.

Not that I've got an issue with encouraging others to be more peaceful or your broader point, but how can you seriously say one can't bring peace from discord? Every era of peace came from a preceding conflict, it's inherent to the concept of peace (as distinct from strife). I think it's more productive to examine their motivations and their claims in contrast to the proportionality of their methods used, rather than decrying all violence as unjust (we know that it's not, hence teachings about just war). The problem is that their claims are invalid, their motivations corrupt and their methods amount to little more than extortion and robbery

The people promoting leftist progressivism are not honest at all and there's no point in letting them get their talking points across. They just tell you things they even know are false just to get the desired effect, whether shock value or for misdirection and confusion, they openly have no standards for either truth or honesty, just making up whatever is most useful for them on the spot. Why debate someone who is already determined to lie and cheat their way into power and wealth for themselves and trying to come up with the most effective lies? There is no need to act like this is a civilized discussion anymore or that progressives are anything but looters, making the most consciously false excuses for all their actions and demanding you to accept that 2 + 2 = 5 without any questions whenever their narrative calls for it or else they will start with the lies, violence and shameless slanderous accusations. These are not our countrymen, they are a mob
