I know you're being facetious, but a lot of the issue with St Paul from modern "scholars" isn't that they blame him, but "interlopers" and "certain individuals" who have corrupted his works.

I think Bart Erhman with Paul's patristic letters are the clearest example of this. He constructed his own hypothesis on how the ecclesiastic structure would've looked like during the first century that contradicts the letter, yet from we have in the apostolic age disproves his ideals. And people exonerate him for it.

Biblical scholarship is just trash in general when not done with actual faith. It just becomes an arms race to see who can desecrate the Bible and the Word the worst.

The "Jesus Seminar" for example basically elected which of the statements Christ uttered they consider to be unquestionably authentic. They pruned the four Gospels to a few dozen lines and divested it of anything embarrassingly supernatural.

One of the worst things I think I have read is from Ehrman and John Dominic Crossan, though, who believes that Christ was just left to rot on the cross and was eaten by dogs and vultures.
