Have an infograph

This is based, but I don't know why you titled it "the development of Christian doctrine."

Either way, fantastic list. Why did you order the Scriptures in that order though?

By the way, why are there no Protestant authors? I'm sure this list can be expanded.

It’s meant to show Christian and philosophical thinking throughout the ages with the intent of coming to truth, and important historical texts along the way. The easiest and quickest term is just “The Development of Christian Doctrine,” unless I can think of something better.

Scriptures are ordered in the supposed order they were written. The specific list I chose was on Biblegateway, it conformed to most the other lists I found

I planned on having this list go on through the reformation and the counter reformation, but it became so big my photo editing software made me size it down. I’m gonna still do an infograph on the reformation, but it’s gonna be separate from this one

We can't know for sure the dating of these texts though, because they often rely on even earlier, oral traditions that got put together.

It might be better to simply order them in the canonical order, then add the deuterocanonical books at the end.

By the way, what is the influence of Marcus Aurelius and of Proclus on Christian doctrine?

Wonderful, next sunday I'll be done with the new testament, so this comes quite handy right now

They both represent the world the early church finds itself in.

Basically two philosophies dominated western intellectual thought: Stoicism and Neo-plantonism.

And the early church fathers had to deal with them, refute and correct them when necessary, so it makes sense to know what ideas they are up against.

Marcus Aurelius was a stoic. Many early Christians were ex-stoics who viewed Christianity as a more complete form of their old philosophy. Origen is a famous example.

Many of Proclus's metaphysical beliefs were expounded upon by Pseudo-Dionysius, who viewed them through a Christian lens. Because of that, I thought they were important to include.

Also, I realized I cut off the names of some post-Nicene books, such as the ones of St. Ephrem. Here's a better version
