What, more importantly&

the birth of a savior, or his becoming, death and resurrection?

I would say His Resurrection is much more important. It was in that moment that we were saved.

His death, burial, and resurrection is what saved us specifically. We could have no knowledge of his birth and still be saved (John doesn’t say anything about his birth, and it’s written specifically to save us. Mark also contains no story of his birth). That being said, his death burial and resurrection couldn’t have happened if he wasn’t born. Remember his birth and honor it, but keep the gospel forever in your hearts

His birth implies all the rest. He was born to end the eternal cycle of sacrifice, His sacrifice begins with His own birth. The decision to free us begins with His birth.
