Christchan is back up after maintenance! The flood errors should now be resolved. Thank you to everyone who submitted a bug report!

The tl;dr version is that someone very very close to me did something that's almost incomprehensibly petty and malicious, something that will hurt us financially and possibly cause my wife's visa to be thrown out.

In my anger I yelled at my wife (even though she was the last person I should have yelled at), swore a lot, ripped out some of my hair and threw a bunch of papers and small objects. I cursed that person all sorts of ways and wished terrible things on them.

I feel terrible and wish I hadn't reacted that way. I want to get to confession as fast as possible but I'm far away from all my usual confessors and the only churches close to us have confession at 4:00 on Saturdays (other than a church that has confession late at night on Thursdays but we'd have to pay a good bit of money to get there).

I want to know if I'm in mortal sin and if I need to call up these churches to schedule a confession. I'm scared to wait until Saturday but I'm also scared that the priest will think I'm wasting his time. I know it sounds stupid but I'm in a horrible situation right now and really not sure what to do.

And please pray for us, if you think of it.

Yes

Just go to confession this Satuday or Sunday, pray piously until then

I won't pray for you because I'm facing my own mountain of troubles myself, but may God bless you and protect you in His all-encompassing gentleness

Possibly, but it sounds like you went on a rage-bender and weren't in control so it was purely emotional and therefore a kind of mitigating circumstance.

Do confess it regardless, though.

I'll include you and your wife in my rosary intentions.

Prayers sent, and you will be in my prayers.

Also, if you can't make it to confession physically, see if a confessor is available by phone.

Probably not if it was just the heat of the moment. If you feel you aren't worthy of communion though don't receive it at mass. Going to confession is never a bad idea even if you haven't committed a mortal sin.

Orthodox don't even believe in mortal sin.

Friend, when our Lord gave up His life for His chosen, He died to forgive you of all your sins, not just ones you committed before you came to Christ but all that you would have committed in your life time, remember God knows all and even for all we've done and will do, He still came to give up His life for us, to cleanse us in His blood.

>“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

>“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God loves His sheep for He is the good shepherd, praise God

For you brother, from our Lord

>“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
