Uhm, Because we are made in image and likeness of God? We arent just "another species" or some sort. Asides this, here are many ways that humans are special. For example, we are sort of a liminal beings: There is material (sensual) universe inhabited by beasts and material creation (Animals), there is immaterial (intellectual or whatever its called in English) universe inhabited by intellectual beings (Angels) and Humans are touching point of the two: Both intellectual and sensual.

But at the end, most important thing is that Jesus assumed Human nature.

let me guess, you believe in other intelligence but the idea of another intelligence that is perfect is Christian so you hate it because it implies you are morally evil and have to change your ways or else reality will kick you in the ass very hard on the Day of Judgment, that dreadful day.

there is no ego in Truth, it's like if someone said that teaching is egotistical because teachers teach as if it was true and we can't know what is true.
