GO TO CHURCH SINNERS OR GO TO HELL!

WRONG

My faith saves me, why should I go to church?

because God commands it?

28651e No.574772

God commands to sanctify Sunday, that doesn't mean go to church. Also, faith alone, it doesn't matter what I do or not do.

5005e7 No.574775

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

>Also, faith alone, it doesn't matter what I do or not do.

(if OSAS is true) it matters, just not when it comes to salvation.

we should still seek to do what's right and attempt to please the Lord,

the carrot of paradise and stick of eternal hellfire shouldn't be the motivator for good works, you should seek to honor and obey God out of love for Him.

28651e No.574778

>>574775

>the assembling of ourselves together

Not on a specific day, but in general.

>it matters, just not when it comes to salvation

So it doesn't. A couch surfer and a man who's spend his whole life volunteering both end up saved because they believe. One pleased God a lot more than the other, but when it comes to salvation, they're on perfectly equal footing are they not? If you deny this proposal, that would mean their works had an influence on their salvation..

>it matters, […]

>so it doesn't

you're a person in' need of prayer

>A couch surfer and a man who's spend his whole life volunteering both end up saved because they believe.

yes, they won't have equal reward in heaven though.

>One pleased God a lot more than the other, but when it comes to salvation, they're on perfectly equal footing are they not?

if they're both saved, yes.

4fc22e No.574785

>>574784

It doesn't matter for salvation, you said it yourself. That's the only thing I'm interested in.

>they won't have equal reward in heaven though

Oh so there are reward tiers in heaven? This is new. I'm not sure the Bible supports that notion. That's an interesting theory, faith gets you into heaven, works get you better accommodation there.

5005e7 No.574787

>>574785

>Oh so there are reward tiers in heaven?

yes.

>This is new.

no.

>I'm not sure the Bible supports that notion.

i could throw a couple dozen verses at you supporting it, i already know the catholic interpretation of them though, so it would be a pretty boring/fruitless exchange.

>That's the only thing I'm interested in.

hypothetically, if heaven and hell weren't options on the table, and we're just wormfood when we die, but there is still a God who loves us and gave us moral commands, would you follow them?

4fc22e No.574796

>>574787

>i already know the catholic interpretation of them though

I think the Catholic interpretation is pretty much the same regarding the levels of heaven. I'm just saying, entering Heaven is good enough for me and I don't actually have to do anything to enter it, do I?

>hypothetically

Never answer hypothetical questions.

5005e7 No.574803

>>574796

>entering Heaven is good enough for me and I don't actually have to do anything to enter it, do I?

yes, that is my understanding. Jesus did it all, just trust on Him.

however, don't get too comfortable.

If you're saved and you don't move, God will move you. (Rev 3:19, Heb 12:5-6, 11, Proverbs 3:11-12, etc)

church of any congregation of people talking about God and about Christ. we cant go to a public church because anyone who disagrees or expresses anti-gay thoughts or that women should be subservient, silent, and not have power will get put into jail

Well technically God commanded the Israelites to sanctify the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday, from sunset on Friday night to sunset on Saturday night, as their day of rest, the Sabbath. Christians should also rest during that time (as a voluntary reward not as an obligation as it was for the Israelites), but also instead of working on Sunday, the first day of the week, we should celebrate the Lord's Day or Christian Sabbath by going to Church, praying, reading the Bible, enjoying fellowship, evangelizing and whatnot the entire day. So Christians get a two day weekend. Personally I lounge in bed watching movies or reading books all day on Saturday because I walk 10 km per day during the week and I'm old so my legs need the rest, and on Sunday I switch to watching sermons and reading the Bible between doing chores because there are no churches anywhere near me.

There are some folks who believe Anderson is an undercover Jesuit steering people to Catholic faith by solidarity of doctrine…
