Yes, I am aware not all of the Judeans went back. They had stayed in Babylon, and at the fall of Babylon they formed the ruling class of what became the Parthian Empire. The upper class spoke hebrew and used hebrew titles. There was no magical changing of races, the Judeans were still there, and merely took their freedom a bit later in the rebellion against Persia/Media IIRC. They practiced monogamy and had one of the first elective processes, in which the Parthian Israelites were allowed to elect a king from the royal lines, i.e. Phares (David's bloodline.) In fact, the MAGI were Parthians, and when they visited our LORD around two years after His birth, its highly likely they were there to anoint Him. Those Judeans and Edomites that wrote the kabbalah in Babylon LEFT Babylon, and the edomites along with kenites were counted as strangers as per the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Just like the star of remphan, the kabbalah and talmud came back with the captivity. This carried on for some four hundred years until Christ, in which time the Pharisees, Sadducees and others had created and were fomenting what simply put was a satanic secret society. The Kabal.
Not everybody in Judea died during or after the revolt. Those that didnt became what the ignorant today would call Jewish diaspora. Also, very few people in the land were of genuine Israelite stock at the time of our LORDs life. This was because of the transplanting of Babylonians and Assyrians in Samaria and edomites and Kenites in Judea. Herod was of Edom. MOST Israelites had been scattered long before then, moving north and northwest, as well as into Parthia and the late carthage. They were known by names like, "Scythian" and cimmerian in the north, and the parthians had a strong relationship with the scythians. Ill finish by saying that a great portion of Judah still survives today, and they arent, of course, "jews." Many Judeans and Benjamites were taken by Sennacherib of Assyria. The majority became the Germans, and others are found scattered in European and like nations. Benjamin seems to be Norway, by my research.
