Let's get a rage thread going lads

6b8da5 No.570233

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalm 4:4

Anger/Rage is a sin.

Nope

fffbe8 No.570238

I recall our Lord and Savior whipping some a##holes in the Temple for their crap.

Anger/Rage isn't a sin if it's used for God's purpose. Just like pretty much every other emotion.

6b8da5 No.570240

>>570238

I don't recall anyone here being our Lord and Savior. Perhaps if you were sinless, then you'd be permitted such behavior; but until you are sinless I suggest not throwing stones.

Also, screeching about random internet videos doesn't count as "righteous anger".

50434d No.570247

You don't know that. He definitely flipped over tables, but the whip He made was quite possibly used as a herd-driving tool to move the animals rather than people. Not to mention taking the time to put together a whip out of cords lying around is hardly an impulsive "rage" action.

Butthurt would imply that it's upsetting for petty reasons. We need to be reminded that even in the west Christianity is under attack, maybe rage wasn't the best name for the thread.

>but until you are sinless I suggest not throwing stones.

Funny how Jesus Christ didn't throw a stone when he was with the prostitute but threw a whip when he was faced with the money lenders

I wonder why he had such a different reaction? Could it be that–

>Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world's darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

OH.

Also I want to know your denomination. I am not asking this out of mere curiosity.

>being angry that a man is raping your daughter is wrong

>being angry that your home is being overrun with rapists and murderers is wrong

>being angry that Jesus is continually mocked is wrong

>being angry over another's stupidity is wrong

What's wrong is not controlling one's anger.

Not sure about others, but when I see something that gets me riled up like what OP is showing, it gives me lots of motivation to study, exercise, go outside, etc. Anger is a great driving force, but it's completely your choice as to what you want to accomplish with it.

8796e0 No.570480

never-mind, looked it up, it was demolished to make room for a parking lot

I guess it could be worse, they could've put some sack religious place of worship there in its place.

68ef26 No.570508

>>570233

The Concupiscible passions (as well as the Irascible) as defined by Aquinas are neither good nor evil; they simply are. If I feel angry, it can be just or unjust and the actions that I do from that anger can be just or unjust. It is not only important to be angry at evil: we are obligated to completely hate and despise and have just anger towards evil and sin. It would be sinful to not be angry towards evil and sin.
