This is an interpretation from a pastor I once knew. In the Book of Revelation, they talk about riding horses to Armageddon. God's armies have their heavenly horses, but the other side is on horses as well.
>Revelation 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Most people who view Revelation as a prophecy about the future interpret the horses as being allegorical for modern technology (e.g. tanks and stuff). But is it not possible that the people in Revelation are riding horses because no one knows how to make tanks anymore?
Some Catholics believe there is an upcoming 3 days of darkness event that will kill tons of people. It's interesting to me because it seems to predict the general same idea:
>Some nations will disappear entirely, and the face of the earth will be changed. There will be no more "Big Business" and huge factories which sap men's souls. Craftsmanship will revive, and assembly lines will give way to the working bench.

Some day soon, God will start pouring out wrath. Computers, smartphones, automobiles, and everything else you no will disappear within a hundred years. These worldly things tempt people and drive them to sin. God, in his mercy, will take that away from us. Pray that it happens soon so that more can be brought to repentance!
