In the sense that it is not inherently sinful and can be allowed under certain conditions, yes. The idea that slavery is inherently evil is a modern, non-Christian idea. However, slavery in Ancient Israel was considerably more fair than some other forms of slavery that have existed.

The OT did in certain circumstances, like war captives and debtors. Israelites could only be kept as slaves for at most 6 years. Slaves also were legally protected from injury and they got the sabbath off. Keep in mind the Israelites didn't have prisons. Slavery was an alternative to that.

By NT standards we shouldn't own slaves because we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. The NT does instruct slaves to obey masters for pragmatic reasons.

on topic however there isn't anything immoral about slavery in itself however the buying and selling of innocent humans is wrong

temporary slavery can be justified to pay a debt or exact retributive justice

the distinction is usually made between "chattel slavery" which is immoral in itself and degrading to human dignity as opposed to say "indentured servitude" which we might call "slavery" by a modern sloppiness but which is actually a perfectly reasonable form of debt payment

Only if you're dumb enough to use a modern Bible version. The KJV translates it correctly as servants (employees in the modern vernacular).

"Slave" implies you are not paid for your work and that you are literally property of the employer. KJV got it right: "servant". It even calls Some versions even call Paul a "slave" of Christ, implying that we are not paid for our works which is heresy. All throughout scripture, the Bible says that we are paid for our works. This isn't some spiritual Communist religion. You are PAID for your work.
