I've made $25,000 since I first invested in Bitcoin this March. But recently this wealth has begun to feel more like a curse than blessing, especially as I feel myself growing closer to Christ. I'm reminded of the disciples who gave up their possessions to follow Him, and how He reminds us those who love the world will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. I'm a college student who doesn't need the money because of a grandparents' fund for me and the only Christian reason I could probably give to justify keeping it is to help provide for my eventual wife and children. Even this seems flimsy. What should I do, /christian/? Is it true that God will provide greater things for me if I sacrifice this wealth?

Please donate some to me. Im a poor persom who survives on one meal a day with noodles. I also was in 500 usd debt from hospital bills because from my mental history.

If you dont want it dont do it, but i really need money so im begging you.

1M1tdGwoavbcrRcBHh2us6LRQu7YBeZsoc

But beggings aside, i think you should give money to the poor. Think about this way, imagine being a homeless man and think about getting your first $100 what would you do with it? Just get what you need. Large money's are very addicting because what you think stopping your desire is only actually adding fuel to the fire. Or you could just let it sit there .

I saved your BTC address. I'm waiting on a new ID in the mail so I can verify my account but once I have it I'll send you some. Hang in there brother, I really appreciate the advice.

>>564245

How?

0110b2 No.564282

I’m on my phone at university so you’re lucky I can’t get my BTC address to beg, lol.

On a serious note, I have been thinking about the same thing recently as well as the holidays are coming up. If I had a million dollars, would it be a curse? Along with this, ever since I started walking this spiritual path I’d wonder if I’d get more pleasure from spending on those in need or less wealthier. Even around Christmas this year the only thing I ask of my parents is a cheap $50 tablet and yet I’m getting over $250 worth of presents for my family. So rest assured, I believe this is a somewhat common thought that us Christians have from time to time, as you said we are called to be charitable and let no material possessions stand in the way to Him.

What I would suggest to you in regards to getting the most out of being charitable to others is to offer anything other than money to them. A homeless man may spend $20 on alcohol and drugs, but if you walk into McDonalds and buy a few hamburgers and then give him that, there’s nothing to aid his ulterior motives and it feeds him for the night and it’ll have you living in their minds rent-free. To answer your question, there is no definitive guarantee God will grant you greater things if you are charitable, especially if you are only giving because you seek gratification or good karma, he may or may not. What I can say is that being more charitable and voluntarily stripping away your possessions may bring you closer to him as it opens a door to the idea that wealth and possession is such s temporary thing, and frees that potential obstacle in your relationship with Him.

To add onto this, you can use your charity to also spread the gospel in a similar way by buying bulk packages of pamphlets and apologetics to use in evangelizing people. I myself am tempted to save up for a few cases of apologetics and Bibles after the holidays. There are thousands of ways to get out there and spread the Word, anything from buying a hundred Bibles and handing them out on street corners or signing up for and paying for missionary trips to India or Africa, every little bit helps and I’m sure you wouldn’t feel empty as you help people start their journeys to salvation.

Overall, if you don’t need it as you say I suggest you put aside what you need for the future and with the rest, don’t be afraid to help others should they need it and are reasonable, and using it to spread the Gospel is absolutely a good use of it. Also if this helped you significantly, I wouldn’t mind you helping a bit with the evangelizing expenses I mentioned.

I hope this helps you in some way, anon. God bless you.

I'd say to save it. BTC is going to go through the roof. If you hold it and don't touch it, it's almost like not having it at all. You can then give away much, much more later on. In the event it goes down, you've lost nothing.

900df1 No.564304

Tell people what you did to get that much. That kind of money would change a lot of people's lives, and it's better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish. Maybe take it to /improve/, provided they're not dead.

Other than that, I'd say not to worry too much. There's no shortage of people in need, so you'll be able to find a godly use for it all eventually. Start praying for opportunities to help people and God will do the rest. If it's really weighing on you, there will always be the option of donating to a charity. Just make sure the charity is worth donating to, some of them stink.

Thanks anon. I don't know if the wealth has necessarily been obstacle in my relationship with God (which has actually become much stronger in recent months), but these responses have got me thinking of ways I could use it to honor Him now. Our society really needs God now more than ever.

Brother, I also want to beg you some money: I'm brazilian and my country is in a deep recession/economic crisis, I'm an unemployed student and I have some debt to pay that is about 300 brazilian real, which makes U$ 90-100. I humbly ask if you could help me with any amount, I would be eternally grateful. Also could please give me some tips to farm bitcoins?

1DuXmgDszb8XG5NeYDEnbNRHwVVuAustsZ

Now addressing your question: yes, God will sure provide greater things if you sacrifice things for Him, but not necessarily material things but for sure spiritual fruits and great riches and rewards in Heaven. I would recommend to you to help Christians in need and secondly the poor. I think it's legit for you to keep the money in view of your future, but don't forget our Lord commandment: " Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."

1.Discuss it with your priest

2.Supporting family in the future is not flimsy its ones duty as a son and as a husband.

3.Not giving into pressure from beggars and moocher =/= loving money.

4.Giving money blindly to people can often be worse to people and help bad behavior.

So assuming you don't want to treat this a safety net for your parents/future family.

Take a look into Lutheran missionary or charities efforts - which is just a google away

This is >>564282 I just got home.

It's good that it's not an obstacle. Maybe you've accepted faster than others that wealth is a temporary thing due to your sudden and unorthodox acquisition of it all. Lots of us here now are struggling with accepting how anything beyond a bare minimum living wage is unnecessary, maybe it's because we don't have a small fortune to relate it to and it makes the fantasy stronger. The destination to money seems to be more alluring than actually having it, and now that you have it you're bored with it.

Anyways, adding onto what I said earlier as I was kind of in a rush, I would agree with >>564359 and talk to your priest about this as well, not sure what denom you are since you were posting as a Lutheran earlier but I'll go with Catholic since that's your flag now. It's usually somewhat of a courtesy to give your priest a stipend whenever you have a general confession or something outside of the typical mass anyways, so consulting him about money and asking him to put it to good use isn't a bad idea. When in doubt, donate to your church and keep Luke 21:1-4 in mind while doing so. If you feel like you would like to see your contribution and the effect of it, maybe suggest the priest could use this money to fund a program for the Church that you could host as well or something like that.

Yes, the world needs God now more than ever, but it also needs people emulating him in his generosity as well. Again, I hope this helps anon.

This. I've been trying to get into it myself but I seriously need to be handheld in the beginning, and it seems like most people guard it as some sort of occult secret.

Remember that with a lot of money you can do more good for others than with no money.

I'm a Lutheran, didn't realize my flair was set to Catholic when I made that post. I will follow your advice about donating to my church though. I just found a new Confessional Lutheran church last month I'm really enjoying and I want to continue being a part of that community. I'm going to their candlelight Vespers for the first time this Wednesday.

Go to Coinbase and create an account. From there you can link your card or bank account and use that to purchase some. I'd recommend just holding it, some people like to trade around but I've usually just got burned when I do that

Just use it to contribute to good causes in your local area. Don't throw it away, that would be fucked up. Contribute and grow so you can contribute more. To despise wealth is what retards do.

I'd say save until you have some sort of business or idea worth investing in. Create jobs. Hire those you find worthy/In need but are also not hopelessly consumed by the flesh.

Giving money to the homeless, though a good sentiment, usually doesn't end up going towards food or board, and will more than likely end up cycling through the black market.

Always keep your community in mind. And always keep your ideas set in a long term mindset. Whatever you do be it for the good of those around you.

The best place to start might be to look to the Mosaic law for inspiration, giving one tenth of your increase. So maybe you should set aside a tenth of this money for contributions to charity and evangelism, as a start, and then you can decide how you want to use the rest for yourself and your family.
