Is Islam really just a really heretical form of Christianity or did it at least start out like that? Are Muslims really just Ebionite Judaizers in disguise?

Some say it started out as a heresy, and if you have a wide description of heresy like St. John of Damascus then they did, but by most peoples definition they started way to wrong to even be heretics

It’s too far removed from the original to really be a heresy. Once you’ve lost the trinity and the true Bible, you’re basically a different religion. Islam, Judaism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Mormons are just non-Christians; whereas Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants are just different sects of the same religion which are so different from each other they consider each other heretics. It’s the same reason Baha’i isn’t considered a heresy of Islam anymore

We have a thread on Islam already. >>561222
