For the Orthodox Christians or really anyone that has one, how should I go about arranging in an Icon Corner? What should I include? Leave out? Looking it up online has proven unhelpful and did not bear fruitful results

33833b No.561758

>An icon of the Christ

>An icon of the Theotokos

>An icon of your patron saint if possible (I don't have one)

>An icon of your parish's patron saint if possible

>+ any icons that you receive as gifts

I'd like to have an icon of the Holy Precursor as well… I find it good to have an icon of both the Theotokos and the Holy Precursor.

a12a51 No.561767

>Icon of Christ

>Icon of the Theotokos to Christ's right

>Icon of John the Baptist to Christ's left

>Icons of patron saints and etc

>Candles

>Censer with incense

>Prayer book

>Bible

>Cross

>Prayer Rope

Just keep adding to it over time. Start small with just an Icon of Christ and then just keep adding as you get more.

Thanks!

The icons are Jesus Christ on his throne and Archangel Michael from the icon of the miracle of Colossae. https://oca.org/saints/lives/2009/09/06/102517-commemoration-of-the-miracle-of-the-archangel-michael-at-colossa

On the table I have a candle, censer , jar of holy water, book of daily prayers, prayer rope, and book of psalms. On the side I have charcoal and incense, matches, and the candle from last Pascha. Underneath the tabletop is the KJV. Below that are other bibles and religious books.

Any Catholics here with icon corners? I remember a thread a while ago where someone said they were somewhat popular among South American Catholics too.

>Saint Drogo of Sebourg (March 14, 1105– April 16, 1186), also known as Dreux, Drugo, and Druron, is a French saint. He was born in Epinoy, Flanders,[1] and died in Sebourg, France. His feast day is on April 16.[2]

>During a pilgrimage, he was stricken with an unsightly bodily affliction. He became so terribly deformed that he frightened the townspeople. In his twenties, a cell was built for him to protect the local citizens of the village from his appearance. Since he was so holy, his cell was built attached to his church. (See "Anchorite".) St. Drogo stayed in his cell without any human contact, except for a small window in which he received the Eucharist and obtained his food. He stayed there for the rest of his life, about forty more years, surviving only on barley, water, and the holy Eucharist.

>Patronage: those whom others find repulsive, unattractive people, Baume-les-Messieurs, bodily ills, broken bones, cattle, coffee house keepers, coffee house owners, deaf people, deafness, dumbness, Fleury-sur-Loire, gall stones, hernias, illness, insanity, mental illness, mentally ill people, midwives, mute people, muteness, mutes, orphans, ruptures, sheep, shepherds, sick people, sickness

I would say its funny if it wasn't so disgusting.

Individually? Loads. My patron isn't very well known, and I doubt that more than a handful of other people in the world ask him for his prayers on a regular basis. But keep in mind that every time you pray, every saint in Heaven prays alongside you.

Well, you can take it like that if you want. I was given the choice of several different saints with the same name and the accounts of his life caught my attention. I will admit I was initially drawn to his life because information was hard to find and I wanted to know more.

St. William of Vosges. He was an ascetic who lived with a fellow saint, St. Acheric, in the Vosges mountains in France. In his later life he became a monk at a monastery in the same area.
