Nice pistol, wish I could own a gun, though I have a weapons carry permit. There's trouble at home (not involving me) and my parents don't want me to own a gun yet. Bro, I live on a farm. Firearms is part of life. It is just another tool. It’s the same thing as my pick up truc, it’s the same thing as the knife I cut fish with. ( don’t actually own a pick up truck. It’s just stereotype. ) But, to address what started this thread, a firearm is just another tool. It is an inanimate object that you bend to your will. There is nothing inherently evil or good about it.
Would you care to comment on the cutting off of ears?’ Think of the swordstroke necessary to cut off an ear. It is a Downward stroke at an angle meant to sever the head from the torso. When you mess it up you shave off an ear.

I tend to think of Romans 14:1-5 when it comes to such things. It shows us that we have freedom of choice. I choose one way, you choose another; but we should not despise the other for the sake of choice. Christ did say "blessed are the peacemakers" (Matt 5:9), but I don't personally believe a gun owner to be anymore anti-peace than a non-gun owner to be necessarily pro-peace.
If you find use in the tools you have, then that is a good thing. A hammer is not the only way to drive a nail just as a gun is not the only way to stop a fox from invading the hen house; but these things are a choice.

There is literally nothing wrong with owning, and carrying a gun.
Neither is there anything wrong with using it to protect yourself, and there is especially nothing wrong with using it to protect others. That would be the charitable thing to do.
Luke 22:36, 38 "Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one… And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough."
