I would argue that it has always been this way. The whole point of Christianity was to be a shining beaco>>542402
n of reason and maturity in the middle of a sea of madness. Depictions of sins from the middle ages are a great example of this idea of societal madness they were trying to warn against. The whole point was to try and lift Man out slavery to their instincts/animal behaviors to for those who were willing to learn(which are few) This world has always been morally bankrupt.
What once were behaviors praised in the mighty empire, even being included in religious ceremonies, were seen as horrible sins that corrupted the soul and led Man down a path of animalistic behavior instead of lifting him up . Horrible crimes/unspeakable trespasses against their fellow citizens were an everyday occurrence, if you can name it the Romans did it, and proudly.
The kingdom of God is inside of you and is not a place or shining trinkets or fancy rituals. Once an establishment/place of worship has started to corrupt the word, then it is no longer a representative of faith and should be left.
As far as amounting to something, you are already something. Your lust for greatness is Pride and should be repented. If you are unwilling to start with fixing yourself in order to start making changes to this world that you just pointed your finger down at in judgment, then you just want something to be angry about, wrath.
You need to work on yourself mate
