Martin Luther, my second favorite historical figure.

b75c88 No.541094

aside from The Lord i'm really looking forward to meeting God The Father and God the Holy Spirit

i think God the Father most though

but to put that in context, every iota of my spirit is straining and looking forward to meeting God The Son

i think the effectual work of The Holy Spirit on my life restrains me a little from wanting to meet God The Holy Spirit in person, because His current role is to point everyone toward The Son, but i know He is marvellous and wondrous and absolutely beautiful, as evidenced by His display of humble condescension of making His abode within me

but can you imagine meeting God The Father, whom Christ Jesus delights in pointing us toward?

the Three are co-equal and co-eternal and One in the purpose of Glorifying The Name of God, the wondrous dynamic of absolute and infinite Love for each other playing out in Eternity, and being allowed to gaze upon and be immersed in this Family is Joy of Joys and all Fulfilment

this is so much more than my most limited lexicon of superlatives can articulate, and knowing that there will be so many saints to greet me - while beautiful - pales in comparison to knowing My Father as i am known

an aside; it almost feels scandalous to reveal the depths of my adoration in this dark little pit of filth, but i do so because if you are not in awe of the awful and glorious Ancient of Days; you should be - there is so much more to God than what Heaven will be like, and to be apart from this God is Hell

God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness of turning - a Consuming Fire terrifying to behold - Holy, Holy, Holy - above all, and beyond all comprehension - infinite in attribute - subsistent by His own power - scandalously merciful - glorious in His wrath - All in All, and all i want

b75c88 No.541120

that's a really good question, and while i can't claim any special knowledge other than what is revealed in Scripture, we know that every 'good thing' comes from God

God being the source of everything that promotes human flourishing and nourishment to the soul, means that companionship - which is of necessity to humans for it is not good for man to be alone - is a good thing that comes from God

to be apart from God and under His eternal wrath would mean to be separated from His graces, and at risk of sounding redundant; companionship is one of those graces

but it may be possible to be aware of other souls in torment, for certainly the wailing and gnashing of teeth are the hallmark of hell - and such a din of pandemonium must be observable to the hearer

but i highly doubt that i would want to meet another soul in hell, for another of God's graces is His restraint upon man's wickedness in this life; and a soul without such restraint would be a horror to cross paths with

it's a horrifying prospect at any rate

but as i alluded to earlier, there is much worse to bear in eternal death - for the infinite and eternal wrath of God is poured out upon the wicked in the place of torment

that is all His righteous indignation at our rebellion, for not submitting to God's rightful claim upon our lives - the very antithesis of everything that would make us whole, and His infinite fury at our Sin

this is why we need rescued from the wrath of God, for all have sinned and fall short of the standard of perfection demanded by our Creator

who can rescue us?

Will the resurrection actually happen?

If the resurrection actually happens will we receive our bodies back changed for our eternal state?

If we receive our bodies back changed for our eternal states will those of the damned be the same as those of the saved?

If we receive our bodies back does this necessarily imply a location for those bodies?

If we receive our bodies back and they occupy a location will they all occupy the same location or will they occupy multiple locations?

If these bodies occupy locations will they occupy the same location or set of locations with no distinction being made based off of whether those with these bodies are damned or saved?

Will those bodies which are wailing, gashing their teeth and otherwise experiencing eternal conscious torment not be divided from those being eternally cared to by God?

We don't believe in a Godless zone called hell which is mysteriously absent of God's omnipresence, we affirm that God's presence will be even wit the damned, but that this presence will be felt as a punishment as these people have set their hearts against God and God's eternal presence is therefore torturous to them. This does not mean that we deny any geographically different locations between the saved and the damned

Maybe I jumped the gun, are talking about the time between now and the resurrection?

>>541158

Well, I primarily addressed this regarding western thought and tradition, that images heaven and hell as sort of different dimensions. I do think that Damned and Saints will have interaction, as we can see in the story of Rich man and Lazarus.

We cant say for sure, what shall be after resurrection, for what we say and think now cannot represent fully the future affairs, after resurrection. Of course, I dont imply, that there wont be time and space anymore, But when I talked about this I was talking specifically regarding isolation of two separate groups. And cessation of any kind of interactions.

>>541170

But the interaction of Lazarus and the Rich man is specifically before Christ's death and before His resurrection. The entire geography of the departed is changed when Christ tramples down death by death and a promise of future change is left with His resurrection

my western perspective would be that the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus depicts Sheol - 'The Grave' - in an accurate way, since none of the Pharisees took offence to Christ portrayal of the afterlife having a Place for the righteous, and a place of Torment for the unrighteous; but rather they hated Him because that parable illustrated their love for money as damnable

i would also hold that when Christ said to the thief on the Cross, 'today you will be with me in Paradise' He meant that when Christ descended into Sheol, He went to Abraham's Bosom… and the thief turned up a couple of hours later

but this Sheol was emptied of the righteous souls in Paradise when Christ preached to the captives in The Grave - and when He resurrected, and then ascended to The Father, He took those righteous souls with Him in triumphal procession

this Sheol - often translated as 'Hell' in the english is now simply the abode of unrighteous dead awaiting the Judgement (and the resurrection to death)

but when the Book of Revelation speaks of the Judgement and the Eternal Lake of Fire, i think we have to make a distinction between the ELoF and Sheol, since it say that Sheol/Hell itself will be cast into the Lake

course if you wanna say eternal punishment isn't orthodox, that's cool - we can agree to disagree that i am right

5a17db No.541236

>>541218

>course if you wanna say eternal punishment isn't orthodox, that's cool - we can agree to disagree that i am right

I believe in eternal conscious torment

You're basically right on the rest as long as by resurrection to death you don't mean a cessation of existence, but an eternal death which does not end. And in case it wasn't obvious from my previous post I do believe that Hades, Sheol, whatever you want to call it, is different from the eternal location of the damned

7c4a9a No.541239

>>541236

That idea is funny.

Can I grow my soul in Heaven so my "eternal conscious torment" goes away?

>course if you wanna say eternal punishment isn't orthodox, that's cool - we can agree to disagree that i am right

No, nobody said that the states of souls wont be eternal. I never Implied to support apocatastasis or annihilationism.

But I dont think that there will be cessation of interaction between individuals, as saints and damned. Afterlife is a mystery and church fathers always mentioned that what we describe with our words cant even come close to actual thing, so I dont think that thinking about it as "geographical dungeons" would be accurate or recommended, but those who hold similar opinions have right to do so. Its a mystery after all.

>>541239

Once you die, your state of soul, how it replies to love of God, will be permanent, and wont change (you wont will to change). And our spiritual bodies, that we shall receive after resurrection shall reflect this state .

There are different parts of Hell, an example would be the Outer Darkness described by Jesus Christ where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Old Testament describes Hell as cages with iron bars and worms that dieth not. But then you might ask, how do we know if their vision is true? Well I ask you, how do we know that you're a true Christian? Are you led by a religious spirit or by the Holy Spirit?

Point was that the visions of hell that the man in the video you posted saw were false. Even if the lolahoax was real, Jews were gassed, then cremated. They weren't directly cremated.

> how do we know if their vision is true?

We can know his visions were false, because only someone with zero knowledge of the holohoax would think this vision was true. It doesn't even fit the official narrative, which is a blatant lie.
