Why is Jesus indifferent to gentiles in the Gospels?

Matthew 10New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve

10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

More examples of Christ's indifference to Gentiles.

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to Him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to Him and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs

>Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans

Maybe it was not yet time to reach out to gentiles?

John 4 Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman at the well and says, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

This indicates that salvation was offered to the woman.

>>Woman, believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

This one is confusing too. Why does Jesus direct her to the Jews for salvation when they will deny him, kill him and be cursed for it.

When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You shall bear the responsibility.” 25All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” 26So Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged and handed Him over to be crucified.…

No

Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Yet he said a gentile (Cornelius) had the greatest faith in Israel and he performed a miracle for him.

He also said to preach to all nations.

Wait, was Cornelius from Acts the same centurion in gospels?

It's possible. I just assumed so… Maybe I should re-read acts and compare to Luke…

Well, this was a stupid thread. Do you think the same tactics you use at /pol/ will work here?

>Why does Jesus direct her to the Jews for salvation when they will deny him, kill him and be cursed for it.

>Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you.
