>And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord. >And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. >Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

>Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name.

>And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him.

>He hath shewed might in his arm: he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. >He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble.

>He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

>He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy:

>As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

I have a question: why do so many Protestants hate the Mother of God so much (not necessarily you)? Is it part of their quest of being anti-Catholic?

It seems that a lot of Protestantism denies the basic tenets of Christianity, especially the Early Church, just to distance themselves from Christianity. It's an interesting phenomenon.

>just to distance themselves from Christianity

just to distance themselves from Catholicism*, I meant

b2edd4 No.537976

I do not speak for all protestants, but here is what I believe about Mary.

-Mary is the mother of God the Son become flesh.

-Mary is special because she gave birth to Jesus.

-Mary is a sinner like the rest of us.

-Mary had other children.

-Mary was faithful.

-Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches idolize Mary.

-Our main focus should be on Christ, not Mary.

Technically wouldn't your original phrasing be correct. They would be distancing themselves from Christianity as a whole since Catholicism is the true nature of Christianity, no?

Those rosary beads look familiar. The one I owned was one of those Saint Benedict ones. Think I paid about $25 bucks for it. Poor thing was, as most rosaries are, fragile.

I suggest purchasing rosaries from two locations.

First place is Clear Creek Monks at https://bitly.im/MqBdl

And the second place is Daughters of Mary Press at https://bitly.im/HSzlH.

The first place makes rosaries with wooden beads and thick cords. They are durable.

The second place, if you're into these materials, uses plastic beads and thick gauge wire that use the wire wrapped technique to make the rosary durable.

It seems to be popular everywhere there is at least a sizable Catholic influence, it's so common in the states that even though there's a law forbidding anything hanging from your rear view mirror to avoid obstructing vision, that almost unanimously every cop doesn't really write it up. (unless you piss them off)

I'm in the northeast though, it might be a different story in the Bible Belt.
