0ec2eb No.10 [Open thread]

This Board is for discussing the Catholic religion.

Yes, I know, a strange place for Catholics; occasions of sin are just a couple of clicks away. But the whole world is like that now, and there aren't many sites where Catholic discussion is allowed, or it attracts trolls and hate groups.

Rules

Global Rules, of course. Nothing illegal under US Law.

Board rules are keep it clean and no porn. Questions are good but please read the FAQ (yet to be written) because it includes the common falsehoods spread about the Catholic religion e.g. Catholics worship Mary. We do not, we venerate the Blessed virgin but we Catholics believe in a Triune God; three persons Father, Son and Holy Ghost but One God.

Many protestants believe that all the need to do is have faith in God, and they will be saved.

This is a path to damnation and hell. Consider that Satan has faith in God, absolute faith. Yet, Satan is damned to hell. Why? He was wicked.

Christ said "by their fruits you shall know them". If you bear bad fruit, you are not saved. It doesn't matter if you have faith - Satan has faith.

If you have faith in the LORD, but reject and persecute his Church, deny his teachings, and defy his commands, you will land in hell and saying "Lord, Lord!" will not avail you.

Some protestants, not all, but some, believe that all they need is the King James corrupt version of the Bible. (or some other corrupt version).

This is called Sola Scriptura. It is an obviously false belief.

1) The Bible itself says Sola Scriptura is false! Saint Paul tells us to follow the written and oral teachings of the Church. The Bible is obviously written, the oral teachings are obviously not the Bible, but the Apostolic teachings of the Holy Mother Church.

2) Before the Holy Mother Church created the Bible, there wasn't a Bible! So, clearly the Church itself is a source of divine inspiration, as the Bible itself says For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matt 18:20).

The Holy Mother church decided on the Cannon of the Bible (which books go into it) at the end of the 2nd Century AD, and it was divinely inspired into Latin about 400 AD. The Sola Scriptura's answer to this 400 year period of no Bible? They shut you up! Clearly, the Holy Ghost was with the early Church up to 400 AD.

3) The protestants say the Bible must be interpreted but there are over 2000 different protestant interpretations, thus showing that at least 1999 are wrong, and most certainly all of them are wrong. Clearly, the Bible alone is false, or there would be just 1 protestant religion.

8kun.top would like to remind you that 8kun may be deplatformed in the near future. When that happens, the only way to access will be TOR.

I'm not sure what they're expecting but considering all the shut down in social media and the past problems with sites like 8chan, 4chan, Parlier etc, I can see why it might be shut down.

Apparently TOR is not the same as the satire site "The Onion", both just use an onion as their avatar/mascot.

The picture is the TOR address. You need to download the TOR browser

There doesn't seem to be many Catholics here. That's probably a good thing in general as there are too many occasions of sin all about; but that's true of this entire world.

I learned of the Latin Mass still being said on 4chan /pol/. I had thought that we were no longer worthy of the promises of Christ and that the Gates of Hell had prevailed against the church due to our wickedness. I was wrong.

That's why I fish here; I am hoping to inform other Catholics who have despaired of what has happened to the Church.

The Last Hours of Jesus: from Gethsemane to Golgotha by Father Ralph Gorman, C.P.

I like this book as it has many interesting insights. The Chapter Christ Returned to Pilate is slanted against Pilate, tho. It fails to consider that Pilate condemned Jesus, who Pilate knew to be innocent and the Sanhedrin were bearing false witness, because if he didn't there would have been an insurrection and thousands of people would have died on both the Jewish and Roman side, and the Emperor would be very angry. Pilate's motive was that Christ would literally suffer and die for them all. And Pilate may not have been questioning Jesus out of fear, but for a clue to convince the Jews not to resort to violence if Jesus was allowed to go free. That is, something to get the Jews to repent of their sins.

Bears a Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur dated 1959

Sophia Institute Press.

It seems clear the Catholic religion consists of the old and new faith, with the parishioners believing in different things

I often hear Novus Ordo Catholics accuse Latin Mass Catholics of being "Sedes" and rejecting them as Heretics.

Of the various Latin Mass Catholic orders that I know about: FSSP, SSPX, Institute of Christ the King and SSPV none are officially Sedevantist. The SSPV takes a neutral stand.

There is a group lead by Bishop Sanborn that is Sedevacantist.

Here is a short summary of their argument.

Now, imho, the various Catholics don't differ on matters of faith, just on matters of fact. When a Pope does things that can be viewed as heresy, it is sure to cause scandal and doubt.
