Kwang-min Jung

Bonus: (For the glorious leader!) Born to one of the extremely rare successful human colony turned separatist planet, New Chosŏn was colonized largely by North Korean remnants centuries ago and overtime it built up its own unique technology and gradually isolated itself from the much larger U.R.E. While the planet was formally established some five hundred years ago in the year 2495 it seceded from the U.R.E three hundred years ago in 2695 during the height of the Human-Fojar war of ascension, given the intensity of the war and the sheer manpower it required the U.R.E simply did not have the resources to reclaim the colony and left it alone and when the war final ended in 2745 the Replublic of New Chosŏn had developed to a point where the cost of reclaiming it would outweigh the gains and so it was left alone so long as it remained in the New Chosŏn system. Relationship with the U.R.E is tense at best but despite the propaganda that U.R.E feeds it citizens about how horrible New Chosŏn it is actually a decent planet. Lacking in “modern” technology departments like Medicine, Architecture and Agriculture and various other fields it is still a decent place to live so long as you never question the way it is run or the Glorious Leader such talk always grants the death penalty for one’s entire family. You have been selected to join the newest venture of the Glorious Leader, you and a few hundred others have formed The Trade Fleet of the Republic of New Chosŏn, don’t expect most people to say the full name back to you. You’re duty is to export a few select weapons and technologies produced by New Chosŏn to the U.R.E, Aliens or whatever else will give you a high return but be careful, should you lose your ship you stand to give away one of the closely guarded secrets of New Chosŏn, dimensional compression, such a mistake would not only get you executed, all of your friends and family would also be executed. Good luck!

(What your bonus actually does)

You have ties to New Chosŏn and access to their unique technology, you also have decent officer training and two subordinate soldiers to order around, but be careful to not let the secrets your ship carries to be seized!

Transplanting char sheet over here

Fluff: Captain Amelia "Devil's Daughter" Verdanth got her start as a pirate the same way many of the most historical pirates did, conscripted into the navy at a younger age under the harsh and cruel hand of a U.R.E. captain. It truly did not take long for her to stir the crew into mutiny, taking control of the ship and chucking the former captains cooling corpse out the airlock.

She was quickly promoted to captain and her few attempts at just being a rogue salvage ship quickly went down the drain, apparently mutiny and murder of a Naval Captain is a crime, who knew. They fled and tried to make a life on the edges of U.R.E. space, but it was slow and hard. Having lost most of her crew on a desperate attack on a merchant she press-ganged what crew she could from what was left and decided that there was simply nothing left to do but commit to piracy. However, if she was going to slid into Piracy then she would make sure that none would defy her out of fear and respect. She would build a reputation so terrifying that the mere sight of her ship would cause merchants to surrender and Naval ships to flee.

Bonus: (Hell hath no fury…) Your sheer brutality and drive to glory has made you fearsome and powerful, both in the eyes of your crew and the those that have heard of you. Killing a captain of the U.R.E is quite the serious crime but luckily you were posted on the fringes of space so revenge by the U.R.E isn’t very likely, you’ll probably just get a bounty posted, no big deal, right?

(What your bonus actually does)

You are skilled with a gun and in CQC, you have to be to command the respect of the pirates that follow you. You are also a decent pilot and the bearer of a fashionable 150,000 credit bounty, shoot maybe you should turn yourself in for the reward!

Race: Human

Inventory:

+Military Issue Jumpsuit. (Decent shields and armorweave)

+Military Issue Hardsuit. (One of the few on the ship, you look quite intimidating with it on)

+Military Issue E-99 Desecrator (The only one on the ship, be careful to not fire it while in the ship unless you tone the power down to at least half, this bad boy will separate the bonds between molecules when fired at something and while it has a slow fire rate it is extremely dangerous)

+Captains Sword (It belonged to the last captain, he used it to put a scar on your shoulder, you used it to end his life. You decided to keep it)

+Military Patrol Ship supplies (Stock weapons and supplies for your band, you can find a few things within reason)

+Crew about 7 other pirates of varying competence and loyalty, the longer you have them the better they will obviously get, because of limited space a few of them need to sleep in the brig)

+Credits 21,000

Ship Name: The Devil's Chariot

Ship Class: Pirate Frigate

Ship Size: 25

Ship Fluff: A re-purposed U.R.E. Navy Salvage ship that has had a Tractor Beam and weapons attached to it, riddled with weapons scars and hull patches and a shoddily spray-painted on Jolly Roger.

Ship Bonus: (YAR HAR)

What was once a fringe space patrol ship is now a pirate’s dream starting ship, complete with an indiction device and enough supplies to ensure that your start at this life will be interesting.

Ship Weapons:

+Size 1 Disruptor Cannon (Capable of disabling enemy ship systems and leaving them vulnerable)

+Size 2 Slug Cannon (Fires high velocity slugs at enemies, capable of disabling engines if aimed right or you can just take down the enemy ship)

Ship Systems:

+Size 2 Shield Generator

+Size 2 Hull Plating

+Size 2 Thrusters

+ Size 1 Tractor Beam

+Size 1 Indiction System (You can pull up to 35 meter ships out of FTL, great for piracy)

+Size 2 Ship to Ship scanners. (Scanners specifically for other ships or spatial anomalies, you can normally find out what others ships have before you can even see them)

+Military Nav system, you access to the U.R.E database has been ended but you still have records of U.R.E Outposts and where you know some trade routes used to be, maybe they are still there?

+Misc Systems (life Support, Etc)

Cargo: (I’ll decide this based on your fluff)

Vince "Comet King"

Bonus: (Comet King) You’re a laid back professional, and your mannerisms are very appealing to people who just want a vacation, your life spent on New Hawaii has taught you quite a bit about hospitality as you’ve grown up around it your entire life, now you have a nice, cheap cruise liner, do good enough and maybe you’ll be able to buy an Elysium Class Cruise Liner to expand your business to higher paying clientele. Remember to watch out, don’t go to dangerous sectors, even if some of the greatest sights are in such sectors and even if you don’t you should consider hiring an escort, just in case)

Fluff: Lieutenant Kwang-min Jung was born a citizen of the glorious Intergalactic Peoples Republic of New Chosŏn, created by 500 years ago when the late Glorious Leader of the time at fulfilled the dreams of his people by setting forth into the stars. Founded on a habitable planet surrounded by an asteroid belt full of metals and perfect for defending their planet, they are a fiercely nationalistic military state. The leaders keep an iron grip on the nation, which expands at any cost. While not blessed in resource, technology, and manpower as the URE, the economy has revolves around perpetual war production.

From childhood, he, like other boys, was to be selected and sent to mandatory government schooling to become one of the states four classes, Farmer, Soldier, Miner, or Intellectual. Selected to be a soldier, he proved himself exceptionally capable as a student, then a soldier, and at last an officer. This was in no small part to fierce ideological belief combined with absolute devotion to his orders and the Glorious Leader

Times have fallen hard on the Republic. Over-extended its borders and colonies, and inflated with too many weapons and ammunition. Conversely, in the intergalactic trade boom, many planets are seeing cheap ammunition to protect their convoys, which they have not been geared to produce thanks to extended peace. After 500 years, the High Command relented to the capitalistic necessities, ordering the first exchange of weapons for supplies and technology

Kwang-min was chosen as one of the nations first "Sanctioned Peoples Transaction Commissariat", one of the only legal capitalists in the entire nation. His job is to fulfill national trade deals, delivering armaments to designated planets, and return with goods and technology. He will even receive a percentage of returns as personal property; Owning property is a great honor!

With heart and mind fired with determination, Kwang-min Jung sets out to make trade. For the Glorious Leader!

Fluff: Captain Robert Reynolds, in his youth he fought for Sector Commander Theodore Barkley in the defense of his neighbors against mysterious invaders. Successful and acclaimed for his valor, made 'Champion' of Outer Orleans Fleet a traditional but informal title bearing wartime duties to train and care for promising recruits it was at this time became familiar with the bureaucracy and backwards policies in government. The conclusion was hard fought and the invaders pushed out and scattered to the winds no contact ever made and no casualties of theirs ever recovered. After the war was over not wanting to become a warrior crushed under the weight of administrative authority traded his championed vessel for a good freighter and took up delivering goods needed to piece together the ravaged worlds of Outer Orleans and taking care of a motley crew that followed him to peace. Good money to be made by evading the official purveyors and taking on passengers, until discovering a scrap field that may have been a vessel and the most sophisticated but damaged escape pod Robert had ever seen. With his senior crew leaning in to see what was inside appeared to be a very pretty woman with a piece of debris sticking through her and the pod. After an arduous salvage operation on the vessel everyone was in need of rest and work was left till 'morning' and it was at this time the pod choose to open. Sparks flew from her wound and she dragged herself to the nearest ship console and propped up against it began to move her consciousness from the wreckage of her body into the ship's very frame the glow of her eyes dwindling. Captain Robert was in for a surprise with this latest addition to the crew.
