Tales have been told of a planet, rich in resources which, up until now, was only frequented by space pirates hiding momentarily from fleets and warships. Perhaps you were sent by your nation to colonize this planet for your King. Maybe you've fled here to start your own nation to escape a prosecution. Maybe you just like the thought of adventure. Whatever you're reasoning, you have arrived on this planet.

Independent nations are free to do as they wish however they are on their own when it comes to building, expanding and surviving.
Colonies are supported by an already developed interplanetary nation (controlled by the GM) and can request food, water and military help among other things however, they may also be required to perform tasks or pay taxes to this nation. If the requests of the nation is ignored or refused, they may send troops to retake the colony
Please state where you plan on landing on the planet
Will probably check the thread a couple times a day and will update when all current players have posted for the rounf

Hero Name: Dr. Whitearius Death
Colour: White
Race: Human
Race Fluff:
Humans are an odd species. Nothing is more human than loving your next. Then again nothing is more human than genocide either.
Hero Fluff:
Once upon a time Dr. Whitearius Death was a talented young Doctor, saving lives on a small human planet on the edge of colonized space. Growing bodyparts in Vats to come up for the shortage of both usable bionics and reliable organ donations his knowledge grew with every day. Eventually the planet's garrison reported his activities to their superiors and thus the young Doctor was funded.
Years of research passed and Dr. D began creating Vatgrown soldiers for the Empire. And while they were able in body they were simple in mind, dull in emotion, little better than Robots. The Empire however was content with his services and wanted not for more ambitious projects. The young Doctor packed his things and moved on, much to the displeasure of his former employers.
He found refuge with the industrial elites of the Central Worlds. Those both decadently rich and boringly willing enough to fund his research. They wanted the most attractive slaves and obedient children. Once more Dr. D served, their vision was limited, but their money was good. After some time however the silent children and beautiful mistresses of the Central Worlds aroused the interest of a certain Empire and once more Dr. Whitearius was forced to move on.
A little planet, far away from Imperial Politics and deluded Elites would hopefully provide Dr. D with the perfect canvas to create the artwork that was his Magnum Opus. He would finish his greatest work where it had begun and complete the Cycle.

Nation Name: Ogam-ya
Colour: Black
Race/s: The Ogam
Race Fluff: Evolved to live in high pressure ice cold total darkness, Ogam reside at the surface of their homeworld, but most usually are found in polar sea-bed regions in any other world. This particularly revolting in appearance race resembles a terrifying humanoid chimera genus species, with pupiless solid blue eyes, pale white flesh that resembles brain matter in texture and wrinkles, a toothy, jawed mouth, a long slanted-back-oval shaped head with eyes, a small nose, and the jawed mouth at the front-basal region. They have 4 basic suckerless tentacle limbs that end in clusters of 4 much smaller longer narrow tentacles that resemble fingers in usage. Men have 6 triangular ridges pointing upward on their heads, women have 6 triangular indentations on their heads. The world the Ogam came from is called Chimera-119, a very distant world of total darkness and high atmospheric pressure and which orbits a large red star. They have a conventional plant-matter / animal matter dietary need. Interestingly, their language's script resembles Sumerian, very strongly. Their historical contact with other races in this area of the galaxy is almost-none, little is further known about them, and they are classed as a 'very uncommon' race in most data-sources.
Nation Fluff: Colonists of Chimera-119 sent to prepare the world for the arrival of a much greater number of Ogam, and determined, by whatsoever means, to claim this resource rich and more habitable world for Chimera-119.
Independence: Colony of Chimera-119.

A successful landing on mostly flat ground. The area is dense with poaceae like flora that reaches your knee in the tallest patches. It is warmer and more humid than most human dominated planets and the flora reflects that as it doesn't need to store much water so it is fairly dry. 1. Whitearius was a Doctor most of all things, not a survivalist. Though certainly his experiences in bioengineering had taught him more than a few things about general biology he would require at least somewhat organized surroundings to operate. Surely there had to be some basic form of settlement on this planet. Especially in the early phases of colonization doctors were always a popular sight. He could always claim that he had planned on joining their colony in the first place and that his droppod suffered a malfunction.
2. Planets were big and the Doctor had to be prepared for the eventuality that there was no settlement in his immediate vicinity. He would salvage from the pod what he could, after all all types of electronics were hard to produce and would no doubt prove valuable in the long run.
3. Having landed on a new planet it was vital for Dr. D to take some new samples. Every new planet provided him with a little piece of the greater puzzle that was Biology. These plants potentially possessed interesting or even helpful properties that could be extracted and used for his own benefit. He would undertake some rudementary research until he could get his hands on more reliable lab tech.

You land in a dense rainforest. It is hot. Giant, stone like plants reach high into the sky with very little foilage. You can't see their tops however because shorter but still tall plants, much like the trees on Earth, provide cover from the sun. After initial scouting, you find that you're in a valley of sorts. Meter long invertebrates crawl along the ground and up some of the "trees"

1. As his experiences on Riki-BAR-3 taught him, always check the life pod for scavagable goods and for survival materials.
2. As it tends to be, Carnagan found himself in a new land once again. This tends to lead to new climates to accustom to. However, climates tend to be similar enough to eachother, with the devil being in the details. Scout out the surrounding area, to both determine the general flora, fauna, and climate type, as well as to find any settlements.
3. A new planet, a new atmosphere, and a new gravity to deal with! Time to relearn ricochet shooting all over again! Begin teaching myself the technique of ricocheting bullets the way I want to go, with respect being given to the new gravitational force and atmosphere. +Marksmanship

Race Fluff: The Dren'ka are a reptilian race from a hot world covered in mostly jungles, deserts, or arid land depending on how close you were from local water supplies. The Dren'ka are omnivores with retractable claws mainly used for climbing to reach fruit in the tall jungle trees of their homeworld. They have two legs with feet holding an X pattern of toes strong enough to grip around tree trunks and two arms with hands similar to human hands with 3 fingers and a thumb. They have a tail mainly used to maintain balance but with some practice individuals can use their tail to grip items weakly.
Nation Fluff: The Holy Star Ascencion is the theocratic oligarchy of the Dren'ka with the seat of power remaining on their homeworld of Dren. With scientific exploration into space their faith was only redoubled. The faith pushed and converted until it was the dominant faith of the world. Most things, mostly weapons and technology not seen every day, dealing with light or plasma were starting to be considered holy as light itself was a blessing from the gods. After the discovery of Light Crystals the use of hard light weapons and shielding tech became the go to armaments of the faithful, while some still looked into plasma or laser based systems. Soon though the FTL drive was invented and the world was quickly unified in the light, some by force. Now the Dren'ka spread through the galaxy, settling words to spread the faith and gather resources.

The colony on Seli II is only one such colony.

1. Begin building a vapor condenser to condense the moisture in the air so that we may have a steady supply of fresh water. Use 1 resource.
2. Begin requesting colonists from the home systems.
3. As well begin requesting materials, especially Construction Hard Light for use in the temple.
4. On that note find a nice sunny spot with little chance of interrupted light from the local star to build a grand pyramid complex. Incorporate hard light if received in shipments.

"That will have to be delayed, for you god-damn landed us in a overgrown forest! What idea was it to land us here, unlike anywhere else?!"
"Ah, well, it's because previous scans suggests that the valley you are in may hold more wealth underground than elsewhere on the planet."
"'May'? It may as well be a oversized Venus fly trap at this rate."

1. The shot down ship would surely provide some insight. If Dr. D was lucky some information towards the identity of the ship and the pirates who shot it down remained. Potenitally it would even allow him to contact another nearby faction and allow him to return to at least somewhat civilized territories.
2. The capacity to take in sufficient amounts of water from the air was an impressive one even in such wet surroundings, the capacity to do the same for nutrients however was staggering. Perhaps a considerable amount of nutrients was spread through pollen of some form of local flora or perhaps the plants hardly required any nutrients and were surprisingly efficient, either way Dr. D would investigate further.
3. Whitearius would attempt to catch one of the insects. He needed to establish what the large insects fed off, he did not want to be surprised by a large insect travelling in even larger swarms out for warm blood. Besides an autopsy would allow him to draw conclusions about the species as a hole. Potentially he could engineer one of the insects into a semi-intelligent helper as well.

1. In Ron's head flashed an old codex on how to deal with bear attacks. He distinctly remembered hearing that trying to fight one is a fucking bad idea. And with a space not-bear, it might be even worse.
Avoiding sudden moves, he laid down on the ground and played dead, to show that he wasn't a threat. With any luck, it will realize this and lose interest.
2. If it does leave, he'll head down the mountain, going east to the ocean to find a nice clear spot. If the bear does not leave him alone and instead starts attacking, he'll run up a tree.
3. If the bear can climb trees, shoot it between the mandibles and eyes. +Marksmanship
If it can't, wait for it to leave, and do the above. If he already did that, then in the clearing, making sure no flora or fauna are nearby, try to again learn ricocheting his bullets in the way he wants them to go.

You've created farmlands of marine flora to provide your people with a source of food -1 resources. +Farm (+1 food on successful harvest rolls)
In a deep trench you discover volcanic minerals and metals
>>34711
something goes wrong with the structural integrity of the brain and no progress is made
You begin developing a new life form that you dub "splinters" 1/2
You grow biological birthing pods. -1 food, -1 water. +birthing pods
You have begun expanding
>>34712
You build a vapor condenser to sate the thirst of your people. -1 resources. +vapor condenser (+1 water per turn)
You send out a request to your home system. They agree and reply "You will receive colonists and resources by [next turn]"
You begin construction of a pyramid monument. 1/6 complete due to needing to spend time collecting resources. (also, please don't put how many resources you'll have at the end of the turn but rather how many you have after the last turn)
You receive a transmission. The ship carrying the colonists and the resources have been pursued by pirates. There's a high possibility that the pirates already know where the ship is heading due to trajectory. If the ship takes a [one turn] detour, the pirates might not be able to keep track of where the ship is heading and not find the planet but it also gives them a higher chance at intercepting the cargo. What do you advise?
>>34714
You construct a small, wooden landing pad which is only suitable for a single use. -1 resources. +single use landing pad
You begin construction on the interior of the mine however the rocks structural integrity isn't what you expected. Mine 1/2 constructed
Your scouts get about half way to the approximate location of the person to the East
>>34726
You find the ships telecommunication system wholly outdated but still functioning
After an in depth study of the air using what little you have in the first aid kit, you find large amounts of minerals that have some how bonded with the gases and vapors of the air just enough to provide the flora with the correct nutrients for life but still be gaseous. This is unlike anything you've ever seen.
Dangerously, you catch one of the bugs with your bare hands. An autopsy shows that they drink the blood-like fluids of the plants however, you doubt they would be attracted to the blood of humans.
>>34727
Lying flat on the ground doesn't cause the "space not-bear" to lose interest but rather makes it curious. It non-aggressively swats at you. It doesn't hurt much but might cause some bruising.
You jump up, scaring the "space not-bear" and dart to the nearest tree which is unfortunately quite far away. Luckily, the "space not-bear" is slower than you but not by much. As you climb the tree, it swats at you again, this time scratching your leg, causing it to bleed. Health: lightly injured and fatigued
The "space not-bear" does not try to climb the tree, instead it begins gnawing at the trunk. You fire a shot at it unfortunately missing as the tree shakes. You are left with 4 bullets

1-2. It was time to put that communications device to good use. Human interaction broke down to a few basic levels and generally when one could provide them with something valuable they would decide to rather reap the benefits than cause profitless harm, nature and many of its creatures on the other hand was brutal. He would see whomever he could get into contact with. Surely they would appreciate a good doctor.
