e712a3 No.31778 [View All]
This is the reopening of Isle Builder, do to it being so long I no longer know who is where. Please kindly post your character sheet and current location. Once that is done I will comb through and fix and mistakes that I would have made that would change the game away from what I now want it to focus on. (That being an active and evolving world) - As a side note to that post please leave a note of what you encountered throughout your travels that way I know where I can pick back up in your story, I apologize about the laziness of that however I would rather not scour through all the old threads (I will start a proper "archive" of what is encountered from here on out).
If you have any suggestions for content or map tweaks please give them to me as we are still in the beginning of this changes can be made readily.
For the next few turns this will be run on 8chan, possibly for more than a few turns… either way the number of actions per turn will be 4d100 for the duration of our stay. Updates will most likely take longer from now on simply because I am in school and I once again am trying to take this more seriously.
Once other character sheets are created I'll post an updated entrance sheet for new players or people who want to rejoin.

(100*)(100*) The time together with the men had bred a sense of teamwork with much of your time spent at home with eliza your return to the workshop sparks a day long rush as you and the party and get shit done. (+Progress 49/60)
(52)(30) With the return of gustaf imminent you spend your time with eliza as you prepare the manor and the local taverns for a long and uproarious party. (+Party planner 1/2)

(44)(60)(26)(51) You do your best using the stars to navigate across the north sea on your way back to wales, hopefully once her thirst for knowledge was sated you could get a ride back to the island and get back to your adventure. You are however waylaid in Ireland when she saw the landmass she landed and wouldn’t hear of continuing on until she had found something of interest. It took two days of convincing for her to continue on towards wales but not before she had significantly terrorized a small hamlet. (You are over the Irish sea, how will you garner the bird ladies favor)
The Briton Settlement:
>Charles Idicus
Anyone that isn’t on the list is indeed one of your victims, unfortunately they were sinful flower sniffers and they were castrated and bled to appease God.
(100)(58) - The creation of a training yard goes incredibly well not only are those citizens more disciplined do to the recent purge, wrestling had for a time become a major sport here. SO when you training center become up and running everyone flocked in and help get it off the ground, the pit in it’s center was home to some brutal wrestling matches and even the women joined into the fights (+Training grounds and Pit) (+Love for Fighting - +10 to Military combat)

(42) Your time with Lasair seems to give fruit as you begin to understand at least the limits of her power, though where and how she obtained it is still a mystery. She has begun drawing power from the lava, it's a slow process but one that doesn’t hurt her.
(21) The men can’t seem to find anyway around the lava, that seems to have been the only route through the mountains. With so much to do and no evidence of a route many of the men give up before the third day.
>Bernadine Karling
(40)(84) - You continue to find a path around the mountain, away from the molten lava, it takes some time but a small pass over the mountain, where you’ll come out the other side you hope it’s near the settlement. (+Pathway found 5/10)
(17)(50) - You take time and work with the men in your spare time but neither you nor they think it was worth the effort.

As you head further away from shore the near perpetual warmth of the air hear on the island begins to sap away a cold frost covers the ground as you thank the gods you brought your furs with you. As you continue inward a tremendous noise brings your attention to a nearby hilltop where an enormous white elks looks across the hills its icy blue eyes falling on yours briefly before it turns and runs taking the icy chill with it.
(12) - The inactivity of the settlement, with a warm winter and abundant crops no extra lodgings have been built, and few amongst them trusts you and your limited common tongue has left you an outsider.
(88) - You decide you needed to gain these foreigners trust, it take some time before you get the message across but a young wife asks that you gather her some lumber, you assume she wants it to build a new loom but her hand gestures at the end confuse you… (-Gather Timber 0/1) another villager, an old man, asks you to gather some willow bark for him (-Find Willows 0/1)

First thing is first. We establish a temporary camp. Get a fire going, and gather a supply of wood to keep it going for at least a night.
And should, Lord above forbid, any of us become lost, the smoke may prove our salvation.
2.
Donatien and some of the Militia venture from camp to investigate the strangely colored flora. Where possible, they take samples of the more exotic examples. With some shame, Donatien recalls a girl he fancied in La Rochelle. She'd have loved to sit and draw these lands! And probably ignore him while she did so. Funny how that works.
3.
Donatien and those with him attempt to stay alert. Who knows what strange animals or beasts may lurk among these odd plants?
4.

(73)(25) Work takes time from your planning but one more ship it put in the water before you and the men leave as you see Gustaf’s fleet on horizon. (+Progress: 50/60)
(12)(62) - As you rush to the market square you and the men make it to the inn only to be filled with despair, exhausted and filthy you notice that the party is nowhere near ready. Without time to ready yourself you and the carpenters get to readying the tavern for his arrival… and while you and the men are sweaty and exhausted the happy look on Gustaf’s face as he see the rounded belly of Eliza and the happy faces of the crowd your exhaustion turns to elation as the night goes on. It isn’t until later that night that you notice the limp gustaf is walking with or the sad smile he greets everyone with, it seems during a storm one of his old friends was thrown overboard, the melancholy is drowned in happiness but it still hurt to no your friend has lost someone so important to him.

Basically just a free “action” you get your shit now
The newly built docks are quickly put to use as Williams ships pull in lead by your old ships, he could not make it sadly however the English conquest has picked up speed once again. Within the hold of the ship is a significant amount of cloth and iron to house and clothe the new settlers. As well as a host of peasants, mostly from the war torn southern england that had been moved to foster french values and prevent a rebellion from cutting them off from france. (+500 English Serfs, +140 French Pikemen, + 40 French Crossbowmen, + 120 French Serfs) (A variety of trivial goods)
(55) With the influxes of people to the French colony and the farmlands newly completed you start alotting land to the serfs, you try to split the english with French to quell in ideas but with the near 1:1 numbers that is largely hard to do. (+Extensive Farmlands (+14 Food))
(36) You watch from afar, the heat radiating from the rock almost unbearable, as Lesair dips lower body into the flow she skin blackening and hardening as she seems to relax into the heat. Her naked forms writhes in pleasure as she lays there in the slowly moving flow, amazed that she is even alive, you watch as it begins to slow and blacken around her. After the better part of a afternoon the once molten rock has cooled and formed a black shell around your lover, you approach the heat in the air now far more bearable and watch in awe and she emerges like a butterfly from a chrysalis her skin aglow with warmth her breasts fuller and skin gone from pale white to almost complete black. Her bright orange eyes glow is the first characteristic to resede following the rest of the new changes, the glow centering around her womb as her body once again took on it human coloring. A deep sigh escapes her as her lips curl into a smile, her still hot skin wraps itself around yours as the moon begins to rise… (+Fire 2/20)

(45)(72) You and the men begin the treck through the pass, it takes the better part of five days to make it through, when you exit you are amongst the peaks of the mountain range North west of the encampment, it would be a few days before you made it back but at least you aren’t trapped behind a wall of molten rock. (+Making it home (7/10)) (+Location: Peak’s pass)
(86)(100) - Along the road through the pass you were faced with a number of trials, the first of which was the large jagged rocks and overhangs that left the pass in a shroud of darkness nearly 24/7. Your leadership kept the men from panicking and when you were faced with the second trial the men didn’t baulk, during the third day in the past you were met with a beast that left you undergarments in danger of a downpour. It’s massive tan furred body blocking the route through pass, large angry red stripes lined its back and the massive black wings sprouting from its seemed to absorb what little light made its way down into the ravine. The white mane stood in stark contrast with the massive black avian head whose blood red eyes seemed locked on yours (think a griffon but enormous and with the other distinctive marks I gave it). It didn’t move as you ushered the men slowly up and over a nearby overhand but not once were you without it watchful eye, thinking back on those stripes may very well have been open wounds… this thought gained some validity the next day when you and the men had to fight of a pack of savage wolves that stood at the height with your men. There black pelts had kept you and the men warm during your ascent of the mountain and seems to have kept any others from trying to attack your party. (67) The camp is a simple endeavor and with the smoke in the air you and the men begin exploring these exoic lands. With careful instruction not to descend into the swamps, having heard the normans speak of the beasts that make it home, he begin your ascent into the oddly coloured lands.
(88) The pale red-brown bark of what you expect is some cousin of the birch stands in stark contrast with it’s vibrant purple leaves and bright white flowers dominates the moist mountainous landscape, hidden amongst the foliage are a variety of similarly tinted bushes and ferns. The most outlandish of these flowers being a deep purple orchid so much so it petals appear black it’s pale white stem and blue grey leaves giving of an intoxicating aroma, a smell that permeated throughout the entire forest.
(100) And while the orchid’s soft scent was pleasurable the discovery of the small beast underneath its leaves held your attention every night for the last few weeks. It’s humanoid figure represented an ideal you had only ever seen in your mind, it sat in a long black dress it translucent skin showing the beat of it’s pearly silver blood rush through it’s body. It’s long hair pooling around it looked identical to the orchid petal above, A fairy was your first thought as you watch it’s long ears twitch as it turned to notice you. It’s inhumanly large eyes widening as a squeak escaped it pale black lips before it vanished into the ether. You and your men contemplated what the tiny ethereal beauty was until another was spotted, this one distinctively male. It same complexion framed by short red-brown hair as it tended to a small birch sapling, when you made to grab the creature you finger had not but touched it skin before it seemingly disappeared. The next morning you and the men are on the lookout for another of the tiny beings when a small voice breaks your meal just after noon. Your men watched as another of the creatures, looking the part of an old man slowly climb up onto the table his small voice seemed a whisper on the wind as it named itself “We are the gardeners of this land, we ask you not continue to trample upon the lands we work to upkeep for its Majesty” a small bow before it once again slips into nothingness. On the table a small box appears and when it is opened you stare in disbelief… (+The Gardeners: Fairy like tenders to the Exotic Forest) (+The Gardener's seeds - Gemstones faceted by the hands of a master gardener resembling the seeds of plants (3))
(59) You and the men have little time but it you continue there training with the blade (2/3)

(68)(46) - The men are finally back and with good news, the is indeed a source of the gemstones. At the source of the river is an enormous lake at the base of the mountain. While the mountain is likely the source and few small caves were found containing the gems the lake bed seems to be filled with them. One of the men says that at the lake center he found an island whose coastal sands where blue with gemstones ground to dust by the lake's current. Though the near constant flow of molten rock from the nearby mountain is worrying.
(83)(79) - It doesn’t take a lot of time to find a few men who are more than happy to take the ships out and begin fishing, not everyone is born a farmer after all. (+Fisherman - (+3 Food, this number changes depending on the fleet size))

(41) You gather lumber for the young women and bark for the old man, a simple task that takes but a day of wandering near the riverside till you came across a small willow grove.
(96) With it collected you begin to float down the river and make way to the small settlement, the small smoke fires and quaintness of it all nice in its own way. With the required good retrieved you hand them in, the old man is more then welcome to have you accompany him and soon enough a friendship is formed, the other villagers are not so fearful of you and with the town leader missing a lot see you and your battle-axe a good addition to the team.
(90)(49) Your time spent with the old man and you efforts have given you a grasp on the French language, the old man not wanting to be to rude also seems to have learned a bit of Norwegian during your time together. 1-2; That poor majestic beast. Griffons are only shown in heraldry and children's stories. We should try to approach it with our weapons down, I'll go forward with some food in my hand for it to feast, then treat its wounds. If it gets upset, we'll take the cloaks off and I'll even st-strip down to m-my un-undergarments, if it means the beast will calm down from the scent. At least do something to ease its pain and hasten its recovery
3-4; We'll continue down the path back home and tell Earl Stanley of what we found. We shouldn't interfere too much with the Griffon as it's probably keeping the most dangerous predators at bay. I should also practice my fellowship and charisma with the men and get to know them even better. A unit is best working when everybody is friends!

1,2. It takes a few days to find the chilled streams and shattered foliage it leaves in it wake but with the trail it doesn't take you much time to find it once again. The icy rack of it stood nearly as tall as the boughs of some of the trees its enormity lost among the thick foliage of the primeval forest. It would take you until the fifth day of stalking it when you found your opportunity, the beast had walked out over a frozen stream when a cool blast of air blew across the waters, your scent now flowing away from the elk. It took you nearly two minutes to get atop it back your thick fur leggings frosting over as you vaulted atop it your axe swung down along for it to strike the base of an antler as it quickly bucked you of. You are flung across the lake crashing into the freezing water. When you crawl out of the stream you notice the distinct lack of the beast, it enormous antler however sticks from the ground at the center of the river, a bloody trail leading into the forest. (+Bloody trail)(+Ice Antler)
3, The lands around the settlement where heavily forested and one of it bounties becomes quickly apparent to you. The dripping oils from the wood while a possibly resource has rendered creating wooden housing near obsolete.
4. They see this as no hassle but the home they say they will prepare will be an wood hewn structure that has been abandoned due to the increasing fires, It's foundation is solid stone but its wall would need replacing upon your return.

1,2. Your nudity leaves the men flustered as you approach the wounded beast, it eyes you cautiously, When you attempt to feed it, its interest dips lower and it begins to ignore you. Frustrated you returned to camp not thinking about your state of attire before nearly the entire crew had gotten a long look at your porcelain skin.
3,4. with a tight grip on your embarrassment you continue the march back to the camp. It would take you marching the men without sleep for 3 days, your denial of the first day leading you to forget to camp not allowing your mind to drift to your companions lustful gazes. By the fifth day however the stockade is on the horizon,,, you had made it home

Bernadine's eyes light up when she see's the Earl and she blushes very lightly, putting her hands behind her back and twirling back and forth a bit, "W-Well, your lordship, as you could probably tell, we found a pass through the mountains that bypasses the lava. There seems to wild animals such as huge wolves that you hear about in childrens tales roaming the area. There's also this, uh-uhm, w-well, a g-griffon like creature you would only hear about in stories as well, but he fights the wolves and we believe he could be useful for us securing the path. He seems tamable or f-friendly and I was thinking we could offer it aid so it would leave us alone and kill the dangerous beasts. I've put markers along the path that would be optimal for checkpoints or camp spots, My Lord." Bernadine then bows before the Earl.

"Excellent work. I'm giving you access to whatever supplies you need to tame this beast, try not to get lost again.
These paths will make good locations for further outposts to extend our territory."
Stanley ponders for a moment, in thought, and then speaks again.
Bernadine. 'Lady Karling'. You've told me of your tale, you ran away from your home, abandoned your family and your expectations as a nobleman's daughter. You did this because you did not wish to allow yourself to be sold into matrimony only as a political asset, and prove yourself with a sword as something more.
You have done so. You are my most trusted knight, you have earned the respect of my men, and you have shown your capabilities as a leader.
I need lords and barons to govern this new land, landowners who will act as stewards over estates. Instead of serving a husband, I want you to serve the King. I am going to send word to have him personally elevate your status to that of a Countess, under myself, and for me to grant you a plot of land on this Island. And you won't ever have to worry about being sold into marriage against your will again.

Bernadine looks at Earl Stanley for a few moments with an unreadable expression before a very small smile appeared across her lips, her head nodding down demurely. (58,32) The frown that stretches down Gustaf’s face tell you it was a true loss. He tells you of his friend and Older Irishmen who had worked as a servant in Denmark for years. The man had come to marry to love of his life after he had met her in Dubhlinn but when he arrived he was poor and in little shape to ask for her hand. She married a merchant and he was hired to tutor me in the language of Ireland, Gustaf’s Father wanted to seek the Irish and those Nords who had fled there to fight for their right to be kings of Denmark again. This ambition was however what lead to our exile and the complete loss of a Danish Denmark. The man had joined my fleet after he had stolen his lost love from her husband, she died giving birth the merchant’s child months later and he had lost the will he once had. He served faithfully but in his old age the storm ripped him from the rails and swallowed him.

(12,20) With far more people coming into the settlement than you had expected your previous estimates leave you even more behind then you thought you were, with nearly three times the work and a abundance of unskilled laborers you aren’t worried about the future. - (Housing - 1/5)
(51) The people had for the most part already gotten lumber makers up and running, though it was crude and in no way fast. You got the men working it to help in the construction of a more formalized and efficient lumbermill. - (+Lumbermill - 1/3)
(56) It takes about a week in order to find a dry high rise perfect for quarrying. Its southern location is a bit of a worry for some of the workers, but you promise to have a trench dug to divert lava from pouring into the place of work, once it is finished of course - (+Quarry - 1/3) (This does not include trench)
(1) The idea had merit but with so few of the new recruits have any formal skill and a distinct distrust toward telling if they did, you are forced to pick randomly after only a week of observation towards who would be the workers for this new shop. It took only a few days to erect the foundation of the small shop and the men had begun to haul timber to the building zone. However with so little time to choose it became apparent that the men you choose to lead the builder where not the right ones for the job, while there skills were aptly judged there loyalties were not. The men set the small shop ablaze a group of women restrained inside while they and a few other men stole horses and other goods while the fire was dosed. The next morning when reconstruction was to be resumed they had fled to the North - (+Bandit Rebels in the North) (-20 pop)
(26) With the influx of energy from her recent “bath” and with Bernadine’s triumphant return, Lasair decides to spend time exploring the settlement and further cementing her in the eyes of the new subjects. With the tragedy at the workshop you are however forced to spend most of the time you had for her fixing up the mess.
>Bernadine Karling
(25,26) It takes the better part of the week to find out that the English have even less manners than horny Soldiers. The ways their eyes ate at your body left you reeling from their gazes. For now you would simply have to do with those few you appreciated you strength and not your beauty. (None are recruited)
(81) After the recruiting fiasco your men are more than willing to show you how much they appreciate your strength and your beauty, satisfied and exhausted you and the men head to the beach to bathe. Assured and happy knowing none of them would dare let others gaze at you with lustful eyes as you relax after a days of hard work. (A few men showed up the next day who seemed to have the right attitude +12 English followers)
(4) You contemplate what you could do with the most likely magical artifact you collected, it wasn’t however until you completely ruined one of the 3 pelts you collected that you thought it best to find someone to teach you, or simply do the work themselves.

Character Name: Bernadine "Bernard" Karling
Character Nationality: French/Norman
Fluff: Descendant of the Karling and Normandy dynasties through Rollo and Gisela, her line was covered and made as Karling to secure Rollo's first son as undisputed heir and secure his hold on Normandy. Bernadine was prepped as heir to baronies in Normandy for the first five years of her life until her parents finally had a son. 1-2; These Anglo-Saxons are rowdy and undisciplined, especially these simple peasant people. They need to be taught structure and technique if they want to succeed. I'll have the troop build the trench the Earl promised to build and run some basic drills to teach them and learn what weapons they'd be better at(This roll is to build trench for the quarry or whatever and also to turn english followers into specialized units that would be common in anglo saxon english)
3; Finish training and outfit the English Followers into their new specialized roles ( If already set up, make this roll into: Recruit more Crossbowmen)

(43)(24)(56) - The beast was not being coax out so with careful precision you and your men set the riverbank aflame. The flaming boars charge was met by your mets thick spears and soon the beast lay twitching as it continued to roast in the riverbanks. The den was covered in bones from human to otherworldly beasts and you found little over value in it at a quick glance. When you and the men returned to the riverbank the beast flaming corpse was missing with little tracks on where it disappeared to… (+Zombie Giant Boar - ??)
(59)(9) - Back at the settlement you and the men downplay your fears and get the people working on collecting lumber for the docks (+1/3)
(76) - With your free time during the week, and the odd occurance with the boar you decide some training was in order. You and your brother head out and begin practice, mostly to bring richard up to your speed (+Progress 1/2)

>Stanley, Earl of Kent
(93)(35) - Your expedition up North leads you well into unexplored territory, the good news was that the Englishmen were even more lost then you. After nearly three days march you fell upon them breaking apart there band and capturing the lot of them (+What to do with your prisoners?)
(1) - When you arrived back at camp a second small altercation had spread and left the lumber mill in shambles, those responsible had left along with hostages and more supplies. With nearly a two day head start this time catching them would be far harder than the first band of rebels. (+Lumbermill 0/3)(-Outlaws entrenched)
(47) - Those “loyal” englishmen had however continued doing there job and had completed another section of the new housing district. (+Housing 2/5)
>Bernadine Karling
(73)(85) - You spend the week working the peasants into the ground, quite literally as you have them help Stanley’s Quarry building. The trench would divert lava flow away from the fledgling pit, not only stopping it from filling back up with stone it would also keep the miners safe. (+Quarry Tench)
(24) - Your training however does not go so well. While they are quickly putting on mass and would make great soldiers there technique and skill is nowhere near where you and your men are at.
(73) - Your search for someone to work the materials some of the materials into some personal equipment took a positive route when an old englishmen revealed himself to be a tailor. While he specialized in clothe he could work the fur into something good. NOw you needed someone who could work the fang (+1/2)

The Briton Settlement:
>Charles Idicus
(86)(1) It was going so great, like everything on this island though it always blows up in your face, you have the beast front leg off and had it surrounded it’s back to the river. You should have expected it but the second you all went in for a killing blow the beast screamed and thrashed trampling nearly half you mean before it head swung throwing the others into the current, who unlikely to survive in heavy armor. It twisting head collided with you it’s massive tusk cutting into your abdomen as you thrust your spear into the beast's eye… You vision fading you drove your spear towards it hope in one last ditch effort. When you awoke the cool night air ran across your flaming skin, your wound itched horrendously as you wobbled into a sitting position. Looking down you saw the flesh knitting back together on your stomach encased in a thick river mud, it was likely one of your soldiers had survived to care for you. The next time you opened your eyes it was dusk and the smell of roasting meat woke you up. Looking toward the smell you shivered at what you saw, a man nearly three heads taller than you eating the leg of the boar. A Twig snapped beneath you and the figure turned and a number of thing became quickly apparent, whatever you and your men had been fighting was no Boar undead or not. The jutting tusks coming from the… things mouth and it’s missing right arm made it apparent that your opponent was this man. It’s own leg still its mouth as it walked toward you made you look away from its face, and the finally epiphany hit, to see the massive breasts illuminated in the fire, glistening with the fat dripping from the boar leg. An enormous grin spread across her face as you reacted to the sight… by the God’s must everything on this island try and have it’s way with you.
(26)(1) When you were well enough to walk you had her help you hobble your way back to the settlement, whatever she was she loved treating you like a toy and god’s how it angered you. When you were back in town you would have her locked, to at least give your nether regions a rest. As you cusped a hill and saw the village and it’s new docks you were amazed at how much they had gotten done during your recovery period. At you approached you heard the enthused voice of your brother and you picked up speed to see what was going on. Your steps slowed as you got closer and closer, your brothers words slandering you with every verse, the people delighted eyes and his own shit-eating grin. The Bastard had won them over and had seemingly turned the entire colony against you just a few weeks, the roar building up in your throat was turned to a soft yelp as your lady friend turned and began dragging you away from the town, your anger stopping you from making words until you were well out of earshot of you brother. The furious mating with the beast that night was probably the stress relief you had available, that was until you had him beg your forgiveness. (+In your absence your brother has usurped your title as leader of the Briton settlement)
