In high school, I decided to found a startup.
At that time, I tried to do a lot of business stuff with an extremely low budget, and was blocked by many potential business connections just because they didn't take me seriously.
I decided not to go to college in favor of starting my business, but shortly after my eighteenth birthday, my mother arranged for me to be brutally assaulted and then arrested based on a claim that my wounds were inflicted in self-defense to prevent me from leaving home.
Afterwards, I stopped reading tech & gaming news to keep up with changes in the business world as part of Gamergate since I wanted to make that part of my business strategy, but I couldn't for health reasons. (This was additionally rationalized by the fact I was spending too much time keeping up with the news, sorting my bookmarks, etc. at that point.)
As such, I was only capable of doing minimum wage work (excluding manual labor etc.) until recently, when I reverted to normal.
During this period, none of my software for my business was developed. I was only able to do about one configuration file. I was too busy working to save my mother from going bankrupt and being in the AltRight to do anything.
The amount of players in my target industry has changed drastically – only a very small amount remain extant in the world. The largest company in existence today was literally just an extension a few years ago, and expanded by buying the largest players in the industry. I've lost out on making API compatibility to enable fleeing users of competitors to move to my services because my services aren't developed yet in the first place…
As well, all of my other plans are much outdated or require an extremely excessive amount of labor that I simply cannot pay for or do alone at this point. (I have about enough money to pay for 1 foreigner who doesn't speak English for about a year.)
Furthermore, I need to buy a lot of new stuff. My backlog of stuff to buy is about half of my life's savings.
Also, I need to leave my mother's house. I just can't work with her living with me. It's ridiculous.
