This will be a bit of a blogpost but I need to confess.

Have to go into CBD for something Melbourne if you must know. Walking down the street I come across a guy in a wheelchair going up a slight incline and I think, "that must be a bit difficult" (first omen). Further down the street a weird indian old guy touches my arm and implores me to buy a bracelet, so then I think "reminds me of an Indian mystic form Indiana Jones" (second omen). I get what I need and go to the tram stop. Unfortunately the trams going up and down the street aren't moving because of one faulty tram so I think, "Hang on! I'll go one street over and catch one of those trams to make most of my journey and walk the rest of the way! What a smart NEET!" So anyway I do that and when I board the train there's a guy in a wheelchair. He's not wearing shoes but only socks and I think to myself, "that's neat" (third omen). By the way it was crammed full of people but after a few stops a bunch of people get off so space frees up. There's some space to lean against the closed door so I go there. But now the wheelchair guy has turned around and wants to park against the closed door. There was another guy against the door but he moves away but the way the wheelchair guy approaches the door he blocks me from following the other guy and corrals me to the part of the tram chock full of people. So I can really only take one step out the corner and try to cram myself into the crowd. And this wheelchair moves to my corner (even though the doorway was large enough for his wheelchair and me and he could move towards the side instead) so I'm rotating with my bag on and I hit him in the head (not too hard) and he tells me in a stern voice "If you hit me in the head one more time…". He said stuff after that but I was so embarrassed I sort of blocked that out. With that mild threat I want to move away from the crammed part of the train and into the more open space behind the wheelchair guy. BUT NOW ANOTHER WHEELCHAIR has boarded the tram at the stop so now I'm thinking I'll just step over the protruding feet of the second wheelchair guy and get away from the first wheelchair guy and on towards freedom. So I try to step in between the two wheelchairs but end up hitting one of the feet of the second wheelchair guy and he screams "YOU FUCKWIT. MY OSTEOPOROSIS." (I need to mention now this guy is also mentally impaired). So his carer that he had with him is trying to calm him down and explain that he overreacted while he gives me this death glare that children give for the rest of his trip.

So I managed to assault two unrelated people in wheelchairs in the span of ten seconds. How's your day been fellow NEETs?

You work at an airport, right? Airports tend to be in outer suburbs, so it shouldn't be too hard to find something semi affordable an hour's drive on the far side of an airport. If you're Sydney, maybe that's different.

If I was you I'd take a room in the cheapest boarding house, share house or hotel I could find and then use its shittiness to spur me to find a better place.

Driving 5 hours a day is unsustainable, especially for shift work, but you can't expect your employer to sort your life out. They hired you to work where you work.

The sad truth about waging is that on the lowest rungs you sometimes have to live like a NEET, living in shitty accommodation, eating shitty food (unless you can be fucked shopping and cooking properly), and with little to no money to spend on luxuries and fun.
