The discord I use actively, which has a few people from threads, I talk about my daily life and play games with my friends in. Even if a completely unregulated thread discord was made I wouldn't use my ACTUAL groups with my ACTUAL friends less, or encourage them to use the thread one. I personally have no problem with Erin's discord being a "thread" discord.

Let's hypothetically say that we all use one discord.
We would need an administrator who would only use his authority in extreme circumstances, a small number of channels and a small number of bots. If we could ahow some restraint then maybe it wouldn't go the damned path of most discords.
That only leaves the issue of getting new members.
